For vata dosha in winter, energy balls can be a nourishing snack. Ground almonds, medjool dates, a tablespoon of ghee, a teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg can create a nourishing base. Blend the ingredients until smooth, forming small balls with your hands. Adding chia or sesame seeds would be beneficial for extra grounding energy. Store them in an airtight container, and consume within a week for the best freshness and balancing effect.
For your whole grain spelt pasta with chicken breast cubes, it’s generally recommended to use warming spices. First, cook the chicken in coconut oil with spices like cumin, coriander, and a touch of turmeric to stimulate agni, the digestive fire. In a separate pot, cook the spelt pasta according to the instructions. Combine both, mixing them well so the pasta soaks up the spices and chicken juices. This dish should provide warmth and stability to vata.
Using tofu with your spelt pasta presents a different perspective for balancing vata. While tofu is a cold-natured food and might not be the first choice for vata in cold season, it can be warmed with the right spices. Saute tofu cubes in coconut oil, adding ginger, black pepper, and cumin for a warmer profile. Ensure the tofu is cooked through, and then add it to your pasta to enhance grounding and stability during the winter.
Determining the right spices and method will require some experimentation as per your specific doshic imbalance. Remember, individual constitution plays a significant role in determining what works best for you, so it’s important to listen to your body’s response and adjust accordingly. Also, smaller portion sizes may also aid aid digestion and keep vata in balance.
Thank you so much for your reply…just want to make sure once again, if having pasta and chicken together is alright as per Ayurveda… And also tofu and pasta together…
