I am 45 years unmarried non diabetic uncircumcised men. I am facing recurrent problem of having minor hairline cracks around my foreskin every now and then, these is particularly seen after masturbation. Though after applying antiseptic cream, and coconut oil it becomes Ok in few days, but this is happening frequently for reasons not known. I am not diabetic dont take any medicine either, also no allergy and hygene problem as such, not sexually active either. pl guide.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, such skin issues may be connected to imbalances in both Vata and Pitta doshas. Vata imbalance can lead to dryness, while Pitta, when imbalanced, may cause inflammation and sensitivity. The friction during masturbation might exacerbate these imbalances, leading to small tears.

First, it’s crucial to ensure ample lubrication during masturbation. Natural options such as sesame oil or even coconut oil can be used. These oils are nourishing and help reduce friction, which might prevent these cracks. Apply a small amount before and after as needed.

Incorporating herbs like aloe vera can also be beneficial. Aloe vera gel is cooling and can promote healing. You might apply fresh aloe vera gel from a plant directly onto the affected area, but ensure it’s washed off thoroughly. Also, improve your skin’s elasticity from within by including foods rich in healthy fats and hydration. Foods like soaked almonds, avocados, and olive oil can support better skin integrity.

Maintaining overall body hydration is key. Drinking at least 2-3 liters of water daily, infusing this with a pinch of cumin seeds overnight for a cooler effect, can also be advantageous.

In case of persistent or severe issues, or any signs of infection like significant redness or swelling, consulting a healthcare professional is advised. They can rule out or treat any underlying conditions that Ayurvedic methods alone can’t address.

Finally, please consider stress management. High stress levels can contribute to Vata disturbances. Routine yoga, and pranayama might be practical to establish daily.
