Doctors' responses

Your symptoms, including white hairs, hair fall, scalp pimples, frizz, and hair thinning, alongside the Vitamin D deficiency, suggest a potential imbalance in your doshas, particularly Pitta and Vata. In Ayurveda, Pitta governs metabolism and transformation including health of hair, while Vata influences movement and dryness, potentially contributing to frizz and thinning.

For Vitamin D, exposing your skin to sunlight is good, but avoid mid-day sun to prevent redness. Try late morning or early afternoon sun, when UV rays still help synthesize Vitamin D while minimizing irritation. Limit exposure initially to 5 minutes and gradually increase to find a comfortable duration without redness. Wearing light cotton clothes is indeed good, focus on exposing arms and legs as they can absorb sunlight without much sensitivity.

For hair health, aim to pacify Pitta and nourish Vata. Include cooling foods like cucumbers, watermelon, and mint in your diet. Hydration is crucial for frizz and dryness. Drink enough water and maybe herbal teas like chamomile throughout the day. Massage your scalp 2-3 times a week with coconut oil. It cools and nourishes the scalp, reducing Pitta-induced hair issues while moisturizing Vata-induced dryness.

Avoid hot showers which aggravate Pitta and worsen frizz; use lukewarm water instead. Regularly apply Aloe Vera gel as a natural conditioner, leaving it for about 15 minutes before washing off. It soothes the scalp, addressing pimples and cools the head.

Consider using herbs known for promoting hair health, such as Bhringraj and Amla. Bhringraj oil, massaged into the scalp, can strengthen and promote hair growth; Amla powders can be taken internally — check with a local Ayurvedic specialist for dosage. For the liver and other complications, follow your doctor’s guidance; regular checkups ensure you avoid potential conflicts in your health routine.
