Hello I can understand your concern regarding vestibular Schwannoma. But dont worry we are here to help you out 😊

1) Do Ayurvedic treatments work for Vestibular Schwannoma?

This kind of tumor grows from nerve cells. There’s just no proof that Ayurvedic herbs or natural remedies can make these tumors go away or even stop them from growing.

What medical science does say actually works:

The usual ways to deal with these tumors are: Watching it closely: Keeping an eye on it. Surgery Radiation therapy: Like Gamma treatment.

These are the standard, effective choices, and the best one depends on the tumor’s size, what symptoms it’s causing, and how fast it’s growing.

What Ayurveda can help with (realistically speaking):

Ayurvedic support might help you feel better overall and manage symptoms, such as: * Dealing with stress and worry. * Helping with balance and nerve comfort. * Boosting your general health and how your body works.

But don’t rely on it as the main way to treat the tumor. Vestibular schwannoma is a brain condition, not just a simple imbalance.

2) Are there good doctors in Bangkok, Thailand for Vestibular Schwannoma?

Yes! Bangkok has well-known experts and hospitals that offer modern treatment.

Thailand is famous for its well-equipped medical centers with experienced brain surgeons and radiation teams. Many of these hospitals are recognized internationally and regularly treat vestibular schwannoma with up-to-date, proven methods.

Some doctors in Bangkok who handle these kinds of cases:

Prof. Dr. Sombat Muengtaweepongsa – a neurologist at Phyathai 2 Hospital.

Dr. Peerapong Montriwiwatchai – a brain surgeon at Bangpakok 9 International Hospital.

(These are just a few examples of specialists you can find in Bangkok who can talk to you about vestibular schwannoma.)

Why Bangkok is a solid choice for this condition

– Good MRI and other scanning equipment. – Experienced brain surgeons and radiation teams. – Options like: * Microsurgery to remove the tumor. * Gamma Knife or similar radiation. – Special care after treatment and rehab services.

Ayurvedic care can help with things like:

* Managing stress and feeling good. * Getting better sleep. * Keeping your health up and nourishing your nerves.

But remember, this is only to support you, not to treat the tumor itself.

Hope it might help you 😊

Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

Ayurveda cannot cure or shrink a vestibular schwannoma (acoustic neuroma). It is a benign but real tumor on the vestibular nerve. Ayurvedic herbs, oils, Nasya or Panchakarma can only offer supportive relief for symptoms (e.g., mild dizziness, headache, tinnitus, stress), but they do not treat the tumor itself or stop its growth.

If growth or worsening symptoms then stereotactic radiosurgery (Gamma Knife, CyberKnife) has very high control rate (~95%) with low risk

Large tumors or severe symptoms require microsurgery (still gold standard in experienced centers)

Ayurveda is not a substitute for monitoring or definitive treatment.

2. Reputable doctors / centers in Bangkok, Thailand Bumrungrad International Hospital – Neuroscience Center / ENT & Skull Base Surgery

Bangkok Hospital (Headquarters) – Neuroscience Center

Siriraj Hospital (university hospital) – excellent for complex cases, more affordable but longer wait

Quick recommendation Bumrungrad or Bangkok Hospital are the most popular & trusted choices for international patients with vestibular schwannoma

Get latest MRI (if >3–6 months old) Consult a skull base neurosurgeon or neurotologist (not general neurologist)

Ask specifically about observation vs radiosurgery given your age, tumor size, and hearing status Do not rely on Ayurvedic treatment as primary, use it only as complementary for symptom relief after modern evaluation.

Hlo,

1. Are Ayurvedic Treatments Effective for Vestibular Schwannoma?

- No strong scientific evidence supports Ayurvedic medicine as an effective primary treatment to shrink or cure a vestibular schwannoma — especially when compared to established medical approaches like surveillance, radiosurgery (e.g., Gamma Knife), or microsurgery.

What Evidence Exists? - Conventional Medicine: - Clinical evidence strongly supports conservative surveillance (monitoring), radiosurgery, or surgical removal for vestibular schwannomas. Radiosurgery, for example, is shown to stabilize or sometimes slightly improve hearing while controlling tumor growth.

- Ayurveda: There are case reports and small case-series in Ayurvedic and alternative medicine journals reporting subjective improvement in hearing or ear‑related symptoms when using herbs or Panchakarma procedures for general ear disorders or sensorineural hearing loss syndromes — but not specifically vestibular schwannoma.

- Case reports might use herbs like Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Sarivadi Vati, and procedures like Nasya and Karnapurana for hearing improvement.

- Such reports do not prove that an Ayurvedic regimen reduces tumor size or cures the tumor, nor are they validated through rigorous controlled trials.

- Important Reality Check Vestibular schwannoma is a true tumor (benign nerve sheath tumor) that grows from the nerve cells. Because of its nature, spontaneous regression is uncommon, and no reliable herbal or alternative medication has been proven to stop its growth.

- Ayurvedic treatments might help with general symptoms (e.g., stress, sleep, general nerve health) but should not replace medical monitoring and specialist care. ✨✨✨ 2. Reputable Doctors in Bangkok, Thailand Yes — Bangkok has reputable, experienced specialists in neurology and neurosurgery who can diagnose and manage vestibular schwannoma. Some examples (from international medical listings):- - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sombat Muengtaweepongsa – Neurologist at Phyathai 2 Hospital (extensive experience in brain and nerve disorders).

- Dr. Peerapong Montriwiwatchai – Neurosurgeon at Bangpakok 9 International Hospital (experienced in tumors and spine surgery).

You may also consider consulting ENT (otolaryngology) specialists and radiosurgery centers (Gamma Knife/CyberKnife) in major Bangkok hospitals — they’re often involved in vestibular schwannoma care.

3. What Are the Real Evidence‑Based Treatment Options? - Here’s how vestibular schwannoma is usually approached medically:

Evidence Level Observation / Watch & Wait - Follow growth with MRI if tumor small & symptoms minimal - High for select cases - Stereotactic Radiosurgery (e.g., Gamma Knife) - Controls growth, sometimes preserves hearing Strong clinical evidence

- Microsurgical Removal - Removes tumor entirely (but higher risk to hearing - Standard in larger/more symptomatic tumors - No approved drug therapy currently exists specifically indicated for vestibular schwannoma tumor shrinkage.

4. Ayurvedic Prescription? (With Caution) Because Ayurveda does not have standardized evidence‑based protocols for actual tumor shrinkage, I cannot provide a safe medical dosage regimen intended to treat the tumor itself. Giving doses for serious conditions without clinical responsibility would be unsafe.

If you still wish to integrate Ayurveda as supportive care, here is what is commonly described in clinical case reports (these are supportive, not curative): 🔹 Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) – used for general nerve health and stress 🔹 Brahmi / Sarivadi Vati – herbs traditionally used for nervous system support 🔹 Karnapurana (ear oil therapy) & Nasya (nasal medicated oil) – procedural therapies used in classical Ayurveda for ear and head dosha balance ➡ These treatments are typically personalized by an Ayurvedic physician based on your body type (Prakriti), balance of doshas, overall health, and symptoms, not a one‑size‑fits‑all dose. Dosages and procedures must be tailored by a qualified practitioner.

⚠️ Important: Do not self‑administer herbs or procedures for serious tumors without close coordination with your neurologist/neurosurgeon.

5. Safe Integration Strategy (Recommended) Get a confirmatory MRI and neurologic evaluation — initial baseline and growth monitoring. See an ENT/neurosurgeon in Bangkok or in India for expert opinion on treatment options.

I understand your concern and want to reassure you that Ayurveda can be used as a focused and professional approach to work on reducing the size of a vestibular schwannoma while also controlling its progression and protecting nerve function

When treatment is started early the approach is personalised and aimed at correcting internal imbalance improving circulation around the affected nerve reducing abnormal tissue growth and supporting nerve health in a gradual and safe manner The intention is not aggressive suppression but steady regulation and support of the body so that changes can be reflected over time on follow up imaging

Since your diagnosis is recent and no treatment has been taken yet this is an appropriate and valuable time to begin Ayurvedic management At this stage the body is more receptive and the scope for size control and symptom management is better Regular MRI monitoring should always continue so that progress is assessed Regarding treatment options in Bangkok the key factor is the doctors clinical experience and ethical practice rather than location Choose someone who evaluates your reports plans treatment carefully and encourages continued medical monitoring

You can continue ENT or neurological supervision along with Ayurvedic treatment This balanced approach allows safety clarity and long term benefit

HELLO,

Ayurveda cannot cure or shrink a Vestibular Schwannoma (abenign nerve tumor). There is no scientific evidence thatAyurvedic mediicnes can eliminate the tumor

WHAT AYURVEDA CAN HELP WITH -symptom support (hearing strain, tinnitus, imbalance) -nervous system nourishment -slowing functional deterioration (supportive, not guaranteed) -improving quality of life -reducng inflammation and oxidative stress

IMPORTANT MEDICAL CLARITY -Vestibular schwannoma is a structural tumor of the vestibular nerve Definitive management remains -observation (wait and scan) -microsurgery -stereotactic radiotherapy

AYURVEDA SHOULD BE USED ONLY AS A COMPLEMENTORY APPROACH, NOT AS A REPLACEMENT FOR ENT/NEUROSURGICAL FOLLOW UP

AYURVEDIC VIEW In Ayurveda, this condition is viewed as -Vata predominance (nerve degeneration , hearing loss) -Associated kapha imbalance (slow growing mass) -Involvement of Majja dhatu (nervous tissue) and Shravan Indriya (hearing apparatus)

INTERNAL MEDICATIONS

1) BRAHMI VATI= 1 tab twice dail after meals

2) GUDUCHI GHAN VATI= 2 tabs twice daily after meals

3) KSHEERBALA CAPSULES= 1 cap twice daily after meals

4) SHALLAKI CAPSULES = 1 cap twice daily after meals

5) ASHWAGANDHA = 1 tsp with warm milk at night

PANCHAKARMA AND EXTERNAL THERAPIES

NASYA= instil l2 drops of ksheerbala oil in each nostril every morning =helps cranial nerves and ear related symptoms

SHIRODHARA= calms nervous system, improves neurovasular balance

KARNAPOORANA = for autirdorty nerve nourishment

DIET AND LIFESTYLE -warm, freshly cooked meals -ghee, milk if tolerated -almonds, dates, figs -adequate sleep, stress reduction

AVOID -cold, dry, processed foods -excess caffeine -loud noise exposure -prolonged headphone use

YOGA AND MIND BODY SUPPORT -Gentle Pranayam - Anulom Vilom, bhramari -Meditation for autonomic balance

ARE THERE REPUTED AYURVEDIC DOCTORS IN BANGKOK, THAILAND? -Bnagkok has strong allopathic ENT and neurosurgery servces -Authentic classical Ayurvedispecialists are limited -Man Ayurveda centres are wellness/spa-bbased, not tumor focused

PRACTICAL ADVICE IF IN BANGKOK -Continue follow up with ENT/Neuro-otology -Use Ayurveda only as adjunct supportive care

FOR AUTHENTIC AYURVEDIC TUMOR- SUPPORT PROTOCOLS -India (kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra) has more experienced centres -Tele consultation with senior Ayurvedic physician is often safer

THANK YOU

DR. MAITRI ACHARYA
