I understand what you’re going through—it can feel frustrating when you eat well but still don’t gain weight, along with tiredness and weak digestion. From an Ayurvedic perspective, this is a very classic pattern of vata imbalance + weak agni (digestive fire). Your body is not lacking food… it is not absorbing and utilizing it properly. Let me guide you step-by-step in a way that is practical and safe for you 🤍 Vata imbalance → poor nourishment, low weight, variable appetite Weak digestion (mandagni) → food not converting into energy/tissues Low hydration → worsens fatigue, digestion & nutrient absorption 1. Fix Meal Timing (Most important) Breakfast: 8–9 am Lunch: 1–2 pm (heaviest meal) Dinner: before 8:30 pm ❌ Avoid skipping meals or eating randomly 2. What to Eat Daily 🌅 Morning (empty stomach) 1 glass warm water (start slowly, increase habit) 🍳 Breakfast (Nourishing + easy) Vegetable poha / upma with ghee OR दलिया (daliya) with milk OR 2 eggs + toast + ghee 👉 Add 4–5 soaked almonds Lunch (Main meal) Rice + moong dal (with ghee) Cooked vegetables (lauki, carrot, pumpkin) 1 tsp ghee compulsory 👉 This is your weight gain meal ☕ Evening Banana shake OR दूध + dates (2–3) OR roasted makhana with ghee 🌙 Dinner (light but nourishing) Khichdi with ghee OR soft roti + sabzi ⚠️ Avoid Dry foods (no ghee) Excess raw salads Too much tea/coffee Eating late night Cold drinks / fridge food You said: “I eat a lot but can’t gain weight” This usually means: food not getting absorbed tissues (dhatu) not forming properly So we need deep nourishment (brimhana therapy), not junk calories. Medicine support - 1)ashwagandha tablets → weight + strength + sleep 2)chavanprash (morning) → immunity + nourishment Right now your body is under-nourished, not under-fed. If you: ✔ fix digestion ✔ increase hydration ✔ eat at right time ✔ add ghee & nourishment 👉 You will naturally gain healthy weight + energy

Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
Your difficulty in gaining weight, fatigue, and digestive issues suggest an imbalance primarily related to Vata dosha. Vata governs movement and is characterized by qualities like dryness, lightness, and irregularity. When Vata is imbalanced, it can lead to poor nutrient absorption, irregular digestion, and low body weight.
Your tiredness may also be linked to weak Agni (digestive fire), which can impair digestion and assimilation of nutrients, leading to fatigue. The limited water intake you mentioned can further aggravate Vata, leading to dehydration and affecting digestion.
In Ayurveda, these symptoms are seen as interconnected, not isolated issues. They indicate a systemic imbalance where both digestion and energy levels are affected by the same underlying factors.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
Please answer each question as clearly as possible:
1. How long have you been experiencing difficulty gaining weight? Please choose from: Less than 1 month, 1-3 months, 3-6 months, or More than 6 months. 2. How would you describe your energy levels throughout the day? Are you always energetic, occasionally tired, often fatigued, or constantly exhausted? 3. What does your typical daily diet look like? Is it balanced with proteins, carbs, and fats, mostly fruits and vegetables, high in processed foods, or do you have irregular eating patterns? 4. How often do you exercise or engage in physical activity? Is it daily, a few times a week, rarely, or not at all? 5. How is your appetite generally? Do you feel very good and hungry often, moderate but sometimes not hungry, poor and struggle to eat enough, or variable with daily changes? 6. Have you experienced any digestive issues like occasional bloating, frequent indigestion, or chronic constipation or diarrhea? 7. How much water do you usually drink in a day? Is it less than 1 liter, 1-2 liters, 2-3 liters, or more than 3 liters?
Your responses will help in formulating a targeted plan to balance your doshas and improve your overall health.
