My main problem is inside my throat. My voice breaks when I speak loudly. My throat itches sometimes. Sometimes I have trouble breathing. I take Montelukast 10, Fexo 120, and it is a little less. It seems to be inflammation inside the airway. I have a reaction in my throat to a strong smell. I cannot pray during prayer. I have problems with my throat. When I overdo it, it is difficult to even speak. My airway becomes narrow. It is difficult to prostrate. I have lost about 15 kg of weight. I wake up at night, my heart palpitations increase. I had an endoscopy done on my throat and no problems were found. Hbs-ag positive HBV DNA PCR undetected.

How to Heal Tonsils and Throat

Hello, About six months ago, I returned to the US from a two week trip in India. I picked up a bad throat infection from the airport. My tonsils were extremely swollen and had white patches. But, I did not feel bad or have flu like symptoms. When I got back to the US, I developed a cough and it turned into pneumonia. I tested negative for strep, covid, mono, etc. I even had a 40 infectious disease panel done to rule out rarer diseases, as I traveled across rural areas. I was on around 7 or 8 antibiotics to combat this. I developed very bad gastro symptoms as a result, and could hardly eat more than 100g food in a day. Finally, I recovered from this, but at around month 5 I developed strep throat. I received antibiotics again, but about two months later, my throat is still red, my tonsils are swollen and have large blood vessels. My doctor merely suggested to get them out, but due to complicating factors, surgery is risky (my BMI is 46.9). I really don't want surgery, and I want my throat to heal. I do scrape my tongue and take ashwagandha every day. I occasionally drink tulsi tea. I eat all veg. I also really want to lose weight, but I'm unsure how. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello Dure, do you have any specific dietary habits, such as consuming dairy or cold foods, which might exacerbate mucus production? Do you experience any digestive issues, like bloating, constipation, or indigestion? Understanding your stress levels, physical activity, and sleep patterns will also help determine if they are contributing to your symptoms. Additionally, knowing if you have any family history of allergies or respiratory conditions such as asthma or sinusitis would provide valuable insights. Since you also mentioned wanting to lose weight, it would be useful to understand your current diet, exercise routine, and metabolism. These factors could be interconnected with your symptoms, as imbalances in the body’s doshas, particularly Kapha (which governs mucus and congestion), could play a role in both your allergic symptoms and weight management.

Hello Ashit, greetings! To understand your condition better, it would be helpful to know more about your symptoms. Have you experienced any hearing loss, dizziness, or headaches along with the noise? Is the sound more like ringing, buzzing, or pulsating? Do you have any history of ear infections, trauma, or exposure to loud noise? Have you been under stress, anxiety, or depression recently? Are there any other health issues like high blood pressure, diabetes, or thyroid problems? It’s also important to know if you are on any medications or have experienced similar symptoms before. Understanding these factors will help in providing a more accurate assessment and appropriate guidance.

Dr. M. Latha Gomathi
I am a committed Ayurvedic practitioner with a diverse background spanning both clinical practice and Ayurvedic pharmaceutical management. My journey in healthcare began in 2009 with hands-on experience in the gynecology department within an allopathic setting, which gave me valuable insight into women’s health from a multidisciplinary perspective. Transitioning into the Ayurvedic field, I worked for three years as a Quality Controller and Production Manager at the Lakshmi Seva Sangam manufacturing unit in Gandhigram, Dindigul. In this role, I was responsible for maintaining quality standards in Ayurvedic formulations, overseeing production processes, and ensuring compliance with classical preparation methods. This experience deepened my understanding of the medicinal value, purity, and potency of herbal compounds, further strengthening my foundation in Ayurvedic pharmacology and formulation science. Since 2019, I have been running my own Ayurvedic clinic, where I combine clinical expertise with my pharmaceutical background to offer holistic, personalized care. My focus is on identifying the root cause of illness through Ayurvedic diagnostics and treating patients with targeted herbal therapies, lifestyle guidance, and detox procedures. I particularly enjoy working with chronic disorders, women's health issues, and lifestyle-related conditions—providing compassionate, evidence-informed support tailored to each individual’s constitution and health goals. With a strong belief in the integrative power of Ayurveda, I strive to make authentic healing accessible, practical, and effective for every patient who walks through my door. I am an Ayurvedic practitioner with a strong commitment to promoting natural healing and holistic wellness through time-tested Ayurvedic principles. My clinical focus lies in managing a wide spectrum of conditions, particularly those related to bone and joint health, women’s reproductive care, pediatric concerns, and mental wellness. Over the years, I’ve helped patients navigate challenges such as arthritis, back pain, menstrual irregularities, pregnancy care, childhood digestive or immunity issues, and stress-induced imbalances, using classical Ayurvedic diagnostics and therapeutic strategies. My treatment approach is deeply personalized—rooted in the understanding that every individual is unique. I integrate herbal formulations, Panchakarma therapies, diet and lifestyle modifications, and emotional counseling to restore balance across the body, mind, and spirit. I firmly believe that true healing is not just about addressing symptoms, but about uncovering and resolving the root cause of disease. I am particularly passionate about empowering patients through education—helping them understand their Prakriti (individual constitution), how their daily habits affect their doshic balance, and how to sustain long-term well-being without dependence on medication. Whether it’s a young child struggling with frequent colds, a woman experiencing hormonal imbalances, or someone coping with chronic joint stiffness, I aim to offer gentle yet effective Ayurvedic care that aligns with both tradition and modern health awareness. By blending classical knowledge with compassionate care, I strive to support my patients in achieving lasting wellness that is both natural and sustainable.
