What are the best Ayurvedic herbs for menopause symptoms and how do they work? - #22152

I am in my 50s and recently started noticing really weird changes. Like, I've been having hot flashes and serious mood swings; things are just all over the place. So, I've been looking into ayurvedic herbs for menopause, but it's so confusing!!! I heard bringraj is great, but does it really help with all the symptoms? I tried a supplement with it, and it felt okay, but not much difference. Plus, I've read about ashwagandha too, which is supposed to help with stress... like, can it actually help with the craziness that comes with menopause? I'm worried because sometimes I feel really anxious, and then I can’t sleep! I just want some balance or relief, you know? My friend told me to try shatavari and said it's great for women's health or whatever. Good for the hormones, but like, is that legit? Also, should I be taking these herbs all together or one at a time to figure out what works? I have no idea what’s best because there’s so much info out there. Honestly, it’s a bit overwhelming — I just want to feel like myself again and not like some walking hot flash! Any advice or personal stories would really help me out. Have any of you tried ayurvedic herbs for menopause, and what worked for you? I could really use some guidance here!

Shatavari is great drug for menopausal symptoms but it’s better to use shatavari ghruta instead or powder or tablets.

1) Shatavari ghruta (1 tsp before breakfast with warm jeera water) If the symptoms are more, can take it twice a day. 2) Shatavari kalpa - These are granules make out of shatavari. It can be added to milk and drink it daily.

My mother also had the exact same symptoms and by these medications, her symptoms magically reduced within 15 days.

Navigating menopause with Ayurveda can be an enriching, yet complex journey, and it’s understandable to feel overwhlemed. When considering herbs like Bhringraj, Ashwagandha, and Shatavari, it’s essential to match them to your specific symptoms and constitution.

Bhringraj, though known for promoting hair growth and liver health, may not significantly alleviate menopause symptoms like hot flashes or mood swings. It’s more for overall vitality rather than directly targeting menopause-related issues.

Ashwagandha is a fantastic ally during menopause. Its adaptogenic properties can help balance stress and promote calmness, reducing anxiety and improving sleep quality. Ashwagandha might help normalize mood swings and irritability by supporting adrenal glands, enhancing your resilience to stress.

Shatavari is often celebrated in Ayurveda as a tonic for women’s health. It helps balance female hormones and supports the reproductive system, potentially easing menopause symptoms like hot flashes and vaginal dryness. It’s also nourishing to the Ojas (vital energy), which can help restore vitality.

Combining these can be beneficial, but it’s crucial to start slowly. You might want to begin with Shatavari for hormonal balance and then, after a couple of weeks, introduce Ashwagandha to manage stress and anxiety. Monitor your body’s response before adding more herbs. Always consider consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized guidance.

Regular use with appropriate lifestyle adjustments can bring about significant changes—reduce caffeine, include whole grains and cooling foods, and practice stress-reducing techniques like yoga and meditation. Restorative practices can profoundly complement herbal remedies. Trust your body and give it time. You deserve to regain that balance and feel centered again.
