How can Chandanasava help with recurring UTIs and what's the best way to take it? - #22768

I am trying to figure out the chandanasava uses, and honestly, I’m feeling a bit lost here. So, I've had this issue with recurring UTIs for a while and my friend suggested trying chandanasava. I read it's supposed to help with urinary problems, but I’m not sure how effective it really is. I've been taking it for about two weeks now, but I haven't noticed a huge difference yet, and sometimes I even feel bloated?? Is there a specific way to take it for best results? Like, how long does it usually take to see benefits from chandanasava uses? I just wanna get rid of this issue without more antibiotics, you know?

Chandanasava is indeed frequently recommended in Ayurveda for urinary tract issues, including recurring UTIs. It’s known for its cooling properties that help calm Pitta dosha and its diuretic action, which could be helpful in such conditions. However, effectiveness can vary based on individual constitutions and underlying causes. Two weeks might be still early to see dramatic results, especially if there’s an underlying imbalance that needs more time to correct with Ayurvedic treatments.

Taking chandanasava properly is key for best results. It’s typically taken in a dose of 15 to 30 ml, diluted with an equal amount of water, twice a day after meals. Consistently taking it as suggested ensures that its effects can settle in. Try to take it at around the same times each day to maintain a steady level in your body. Make sure you’re also focusing on staying hydrated with water or herbal teas, as this will assist Chandanasava in flushing out bacteria and soothing the urinary tract.

Regarding the bloated feeling, it might be your digestive system responding to the fermentation in Chandanasava, which contains naturally occurring alcohol from the fermentation process. If this sensation is troublesome, consider focusing on balancing your Agni or digestive fire. This can be achieved by eating lighter meals, incorporating spices like cumin and coriander, and ensuring regular meal timings.

In Ayurvedic terms, Pitta and Vata balance are crucial in urinary and digestive health. Avoid excessively spicy, sour, or salty foods which might aggravate Pitta. Bringing in a cooling diet, like one based on coconut water, pomegranates, and cooling herbs such as coriander and fennel, may support your journey in reducing UTIs and ensuring comfort. Practicing stress management through yoga or meditation can assist in maintaining dosha balance.

Should the issues persist, consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner who can tailor the recommendations to your unique prakriti would be invaluable. Remember that sometimes deep-seated conditions require a multi-modal strategy including lifestyle, diet, herbals, and sometimes allopathic interventions, tailored specifically to you.
