HI,

it is mainly due to Vata Pradhanata in Jara Awastha i.e. due to Vata Dosha dominance in old age.

oral treatment- 1) Chandraprabha vati 2 tab bd with luke warm water after meal 2) Vishatintuk vati 2 tab bd after meal ------(is a preparation which pacifies kaphavata-originated diseases and it cures Vasthishaithilya thereby reducing the symptoms such as urinary urgency and increased frequency of urination) 3) ashwagandha churn 1 tsf bd before meal with luke warm water-------------(contributed to improving the tone of the bladder) 4) Smritisagar rasa 2 tab bd after meal

panchkarma therapy-

picha basti with sheerbala taila for 7 days from nearby panchkarma centre -------gives effective result for urinary incontinence ( it is just like anema)

Advice- Pelvic floor exercises (Kegel exercises) can help strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor that support the bladder and close the sphincter. Bladder training can help patients learn to delay urination. Pelvic Floor Yogic Exercise is a very effective method for restoring urinary incontinence.

Yoga postures like Tadasana (mountain pose), Utkatasana (chair pose), Trikonasana (triangle pose), Malasana (squat pose), Viparita Karani Variation (legs up the wall pose), Salamba Set Bandhasana (supported bridge pose), Supta Baddha Konasana (reclined cobbler’s pose), and Savasana (corpse pose) are very useful in urinary incontinence in women.

follow up after 15 days.

HELLO JHILLY,

Urinary incontinence is when you cannot full control your bladder, leading to leakage of urine. In Ayurveda, this is often due to an imbalance of vata, especially Apana vata, which controls ladder ad pelvic functions

In older age , muscles and tissues that hold urine become weaker, sometimes worsened by -Diabetes can irritate bladder and nerves -Hypertension may affect kidney function

So, in your case, it is moderate incontinence, happening frequently without specific triggers. This means bladder muscles are weak and vata imbalance is significant. The goal is to strengthen bladder control, calm vata , protect kidney, and prevent progression of diabetes/hypertension complications

TREATMENT GOALS -correct vata imbalane= main cause of leakage -strengthen bladder and pelvic muscles= improve urine holding -protect kidneys = prevent chronic kiidney disease - improve overall urinary health= reduce irritation, frequency and infections -support general health

INTERNAL MEDICATIONS

1) CHANDRAPRABHA VATI= 2 tabs twice daily after meals for 2-3 months =balance vata and kapha in urinary system, strengthens bladder

2) GOKSHURADI GUGGULU= 2 tabs twice daily after meals for 3 months = strengthens bladder muscles, supports kidney function

3) PUNARNAVADI KASHAYA= 15 ml twice daily abefore meals with warm water for 2 months = supports kidney detox, reduces swelling, relieves frequency

4) ASHWAGANDHA CHURNA= 1 tsp with warm milk at bedtime for 3 months = strengthen pelvic muscles, improves general vigour

5) SHILAJIT CAPSULES= 250 g daily after breakfast for 2 months =rejuvenates kidney tissues, boosts energy

EXTERNAL THERAPIES

1) OIL MASSAGE= daily gentle massage with sesame oil on lower abdomen, back, and legs to reduce vata

2) Warm compress on lower abdomen for mild bladder pin or irritation

3) SIT IN WARM WATER (sitz bath) 10-15 min daily- relaxes pelvic muscles and improves circulation

4) herbal decoction for soaking- mild punarnava or gokshura ater for external washing if irritation occurs

LIFESTYLE CHANGES -do not hold urine for too long- empty bladder on time -Avoid lifting heavy weights frquently- reduces bladder pressure -walk daily- mild exercise strengthens pelvic floor - maintain good sleep hygiene - poor sleep can worsen vata - avoid cold drinks and very dry foods- these aggravate vata

YOGA ASANAS- strengthen muscles, improves nerve control and calm vata -vajrasana = improvs digestion and support bladder nerves -malasana= strenghtens pelvic floor -setu bandhasana= tones lower abdomen - bhujangasana= improves blood flow to kidney

PRANAYAM -anulom vilom = balances vata, reduces stress -bhramari= calms nervous system , reduces urgency

PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISE (kegel) -contract and relax muscles used to stop urine, 10-15 times, 2-3 sets daily

DIET -warm , cooked vegetales- pumpkin, bottle gourd, ridge gourd, carrots -whole diet- rice, barley, wheat - legumes= moong dal, lentils soaked and cooked well -fruits= apple, pomegranate, amla - herbs/spices= cumin, coriander, fennel -lukewam water and milk

AVOID -excess tea, coffe, alcohol - cold or refrigerated foods -very spicy, oily , or salty foods -overuse of diuretic without doctor advice

Urinary incontinence is common in older age, but improvement I possible with consistent Ayurvedic treatment -Focus on balancing vata, strengthening muss, protection side nd controlling blood sugar/bp - combining internal medicines, external therapies, lifestyle yoga, diet, gives the best results -patience is key- improvement may be seen in 6-12 weeks but fun strength may take loner

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT B HELPFUL

THANK YOU

Urinary incontinence in older women often involves Vata imbalance in Ayurveda. Managing Vata dosha while considering your hypertension and diabetes is crucial. Begin by incorporating lifestyle and dietary changes. Warm, cooked foods that are easy to digest can be quite beneficial. Favor foods like moong dal, oatmeal, warm milk, ghee, and whole grains. Avoid dry, cold, and raw foods; they can aggravate Vata.

For herbal support, Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa) can be considered. Gokshura helps strengthen urinary muscles, while Punarnava supports kidney health and assist in fluid balance. Consider taking these herbs under guidance of an Ayurvedic practitioner, especially due to your existing medications.

Ashwagandha is another herb that can help in balancing Vata and improving strength. It aids in dealing with stress which could sometimes contribute to urinary issues. However, always discuss with your healthcare provider before adding herbs to your regime, given your medication schedule.

Additionally, practice regular oil massage with sesame oil to pacify Vata. Gentle yoga poses such as Supta Baddha Konasana (reclined bound angle pose) and gentle pelvic floor exercises can improve pelvic muscle strength.

Consuming enough water daily while avoiding excessive caffeine and alcohol help urinary health and keeps kidney function optimal! Keep checking your blood sugar and pressure levels regularly. It’s imperative to customize any Ayurvedic treatment based on ongoing observation and feedback regarding how your body responds.

Urinary incontinence, especially in older adults, may stem from an imbalance in the vata dosha, which affects movement and elimination. To address this issue and support kidney health, consider incorporating Asparagus racemosus (Shatavari) and Tribulus terrestris (Gokshura) into your regimen, as they nourish the urinary system and help maintain balance. You can prepare a simple concoction with these herbs by boiling them in water and consuming the decoction each day. Make sure to use these herbs in moderation and according to recommended doses—typically 1 teaspoon per cup of water, boiled down to half.

For further vata pacification, Triphala can help in maintaining bowel regularity, which indirectly supports bladder function. Take 1 teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water before bedtime. This can enhance digestion and facilitate regular bowel movements, relieving pressure on the bladder.

Since hypertension and diabetes are present, ensure dietary choices support kidney function and blood sugar stability. Minimize salt intake and favor cooked, warm foods over raw and cold ones. Gourd vegetables, like bottle gourd (Lauki), are beneficial in such cases.

Perform regular pelvic floor exercises (Kegel exercises) to strengthen muscles controlling urine flow. Hydrate well, but limit consumption of caffeinated or sugary beverages, which can irritate the bladder.

Because of your pre-existing conditions, keep monitoring your blood pressure and glucose levels. It’s essential to continue prescribed medications for hypertension and diabetes while integrating these Ayurvedic suggestions carefully within your lifestyle. Discussing any changes with your healthcare provider can ensure compatibility with your current treatments and conditions.
