Frequent urination and UTI (urinary tract infection) are often due to an imbalance in Pitta and Vata doshas, causing inflammation and irritation in the urinary system (Mutravaha Srotas). Ayurveda offers a comprehensive approach to provide relief and prevent recurrence.

Ayurvedic Chikitsa for UTI and Frequent Urination 1. Internal Remedies (Aushadha):

Chandraprabha Vati: Take 2 tablets twice daily with warm water. This is a powerful remedy for urinary infections and frequent urination. Punarnava Capsules: 500 mg twice daily for reducing inflammation and improving kidney function. Gokshuradi Guggulu: 1-2 tablets twice daily to soothe the urinary tract and balance Vata-Pitta. Coriander-Cumin Drink: Boil 1 tsp each of coriander and cumin seeds in 2 cups of water. Strain and drink twice daily to cool Pitta and support urination. 2. Home Remedies:

Barley Water: Boil barley (1 tbsp) in 1 liter of water, strain, and drink throughout the day to flush toxins. Coconut Water: Drink once daily to soothe and cool the urinary tract. Amla Juice: Mix 2 tsp of amla juice with water and a pinch of turmeric. Consume on an empty stomach to strengthen immunity and detoxify. 3. Diet (Ahara):

Eat light, easily digestible foods to avoid aggravating Pitta and Vata: Include moong dal, cooked vegetables, and whole grains. Avoid spicy, sour, salty, and fried foods. Drink plenty of warm water and herbal teas. Incorporate cooling and diuretic foods like cucumber, watermelon, and celery. 4. Lifestyle (Vihara):

Avoid holding urine for long periods, as this aggravates Vata. Practice gentle Yoga poses like Baddha Konasana and Malasana to improve bladder health. Ensure proper hygiene to prevent recurring infections. 5. Detoxification (Shodhana):

Undergo a Panchakarma therapy like Virechana (purgation) under the guidance of an Ayurvedic doctor to clear toxins and balance doshas. 6. Preventive Care:

Take 1 tsp of Gokshura powder with warm water daily as a long-term measure. Include Triphala (1 tsp at bedtime) to maintain digestion and detoxify the system. Now, from an Ayurvedic perspective, we look into your prakriti, or constitution, most likely here the Pitta dosha is getting agitated; it can inflame everything, including your urinary tract.
