Hello Dr Thanks for your valuable opinion.

HELLO, In your wife’s condition, the bone marrow produces too many blood cells, especially red blood cells. Because of this -blood becomes thicker than normal -flow of blood slows down -risk of clot formation increases -oxygen delivery becomes irregular This is why symptoms like -headache -burning sensation -body itching (especially after bath) -fatigue -heaviness in head or body -sometimes breathlessness or dizziness can occur WHY HYDROXYUREA WAS GIVEN? Hydroxyurea suppresses bone marrow activity to control excess blood cells But long term use can cause -gastric irritation -mouth ulcers -weakness -intolerance (as in your wife’s case) Ayurveda sees this condition as a problem of blood quality and balance, not just numbers ACCORDING TO AYURVEDA -Pitta dosha becomes excessive -This overheats and over stimulates blood tissue Blood becomes -too much -too thick -too hot -Liver and spleen are stressed -Circulation channels get partially blocked The body is producing “hot, thick blood” that does not flow smoothly TREATMENT GOALS -cool down overheated blood -improve blood flow and quality -support liver and spleen -reduce symptoms- itching, burning, heaviness -prevent complications- clots, weakness -improve tolerance and quality of life Ayurveda works slowly but gently, especially suitable when strong medicines are not tolerated INTERNAL MEDICATIONS A) BLOOD PURIFICATION AND COOLING MEDICINES 1) MAHAMANJISTHADI KASHAYA= 15ml + equal warm water, twice daily before meals =purifies blood, improves circulation, reduces thickness and inflammation, helps itching and burning 2) KAISHOR GUGGULU= 1 tab twice daily after meals =detoxifies blood, reduces micro blockages, supports joints and circulation, useful in chronic blood disorders 3) SARIVADYASAVA= 15ml with equal water after meals, twice daily =strong cooling effect, excellent for itching, burning improves blood quality, calms pitta B) LIVER AND SPLEEN SUPPORT 4) AROGYAVARDHINI VATI= 1 tab twice daily after meals for 6 weeks =supports liver function, helps regulate metabolism, prevents toxic accumulation C) SINGLE HERBAL SUPPORT 5) GUDUCHI TABELT= 2 tabs twice daily =cooling yet immune balancing, reduces inflammation , supports bone marrow health without overstimulation 6) AMALAKI POWDER= 1 tsp with warm water in morning =naturalantioxidantt, pitta pacifier, improves digestion and blood quality MEDICINES USUALLY AVOIDING IN PV -Ashwagandha (can increase blood purification) -shilajit -loha bhasma -strong Rasayana therapies EXTERNAL THERAPIES 1) OIL MASSAGE -use coconut oil -2-3 times per week -improves circulation -reduces stress and dryness DIET -rice, barley, wheat -bottle gourd, pumpkin, ridge gourd -snake gourd, cucumber -pomegranate, apple, pear -coconut water -buttermilk thin, spiced with cumin -coriander, fennel, cumin AVOID -red meat, organ meat -alcohol -fried food -excess oil -spicy and sour food -fermented food -pickles -excess garlic and onion -smoking Drink plenty of water to reduce blood thickness YOGA AND PRANAYAM -anulom vilom= 10-15 min -sheetali/sheetkari= cooling breathing -bhramari= stress relief YOGA -Gentle walking -vajrasana -shavasana AVOID -kapalbhati -bhastrika -heavy workouts -excess heat exposure HOME REMEDIES -coriander seed water soaked overnight -amla juice diluted -cocountwater -avoid very hot baths itching trigger Polyycythemia vera is chronic but manageable Ayurveda offers support, symptoms control ,and better tolerance Do not stop modern medicines suddenly without guidance Best results come from integrative Care DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU DR. MAITRI ACHARYA

Hello I get why you’re worried. Dealing with Polycythemia Vera for 10 years, especially when Hydroxyurea is a problem, can be tough. It’s smart to consider Ayurveda; I’m here to help you explore it safely. Polycythemia Vera – What Ayurveda Says: Ayurveda sees this as a blood issue, mostly because of: * Pitta issues * Blood imbalance * Circulation problems Important: Ayurveda can’t fully cure Polycythemia Vera. But it might ease symptoms, boost tolerance, lessen problems, and improve life quality, mainly if modern meds cause issues. AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT INTERNAL MEDICATION * Guduchi capsule 1-0-1 after food Blood cleanser, boosts immunity * Sarivasavam 30ml-0-30ml after food Calms blood, balances Pitta * Manjisthadi kashaya tablet 1-0-1 after food Boosts blood quality & flow * kamdugha mukta 1-0-1 after food Cools Pitta (small dose) PANCHAKARMA For stable patients: * Gentle cleansing for blood purification * Special treatments (done by experts) ❌ Bloodletting isn’t usually suggested without a blood doctor’s okay. DIET AND LIFESTYLE ✅ Eat: * Cooling stuff: rice, barley, gourds * Pomegranate, apple, pear * Diluted buttermilk * Coriander, fennel water ❌ Avoid: * Too much salt, fried foods * Red meat, alcohol * Spicy, sour, fermented stuff * Too much heat & dehydration Stay hydrated! Lifestyle: * Walk gently, do breathing exercises * Sleep well * Avoid stress, anger, overheating * Check your blood regularly Important Advice: * Don’t stop Hydroxyurea suddenly * Use Ayurveda as extra help * Talk to your blood doctor * Keep checking your blood Ayurveda may: * ✔️ Help you handle meds better * ✔️ Fix blood issues * ✔️ Help your liver & immunity * ✔️ Make life better Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

Hello Dr Thanks very much for your valuable opinion

Primary polycythemia vera is a chronic blood disorder where red blood cell count is increased leading to thick blood and risk of clotting Long term use of Hydroxyurea can sometimes cause intolerance and side effects In such cases natural medicine can help support blood health reduce symptoms and improve overall well being but it cannot replace regular monitoring by a hematologist This condition is related to imbalance in blood and metabolism with disturbance in energy due to chronicity I would suggest the following approach For blood purification take a blood cleansing herbal powder one teaspoon with warm water twice daily or a herbal fermented tonic two teaspoon after food twice daily For reducing heat in the body and improving digestion take amla powder half teaspoon with honey in the morning For weakness and low energy take ashwagandha powder half teaspoon with warm milk morning and night For inflammation or joint pains take guggul powder half teaspoon with warm water morning and night For liver support and blood detox take a herbal decoction made of tulsi giloy and dry ginger ten ml twice daily Ensure adequate hydration with warm water throughout the day Along with medicines follow a light cooked easy to digest diet avoid heavy spicy oily or fried foods reduce red meat and processed foods include green leafy vegetables fruits and nuts moderate exercise like walking and daily relaxation techniques will help improve circulation reduce stress and support overall health Regular monitoring of blood counts is essential consult the hematologist regularly to track red blood cell levels and adjust medications
