I am a male of 70 years. There is irritation, bulkiness and uncomfort in the anal area for the last two months. No blood is coming. I tried physillium husk and also soaked gond katira but got no relief. Doctor was consuted but he said there are no heammorids. He advised only to take laxatives.

Namaste, Since your doctor has checked and said there are no hemorrhoids, that is a good and reassuring sign. At this age, irritation and a feeling of bulkiness in the anal area can happen due to mild dryness, slight internal swelling, or straining during motion, even if there is no bleeding. Since psyllium and gond katira did not help much, instead of increasing fiber more, focus on keeping the stool soft and the area lubricated. You can try these simple steps: Add 1 teaspoon of ghee in your meals daily. Drink enough warm water during the day. Avoid straining during bowel movements. Wash gently with lukewarm water after passing stool and keep the area dry. You may apply a small amount of coconut oil externally at night for soothing effect. Avoid very spicy and very dry foods for some time. As there is no bleeding and doctor has examined you, this does not appear serious. If symptoms increase or bleeding starts, then you should consult again. If the discomfort continues, a proper consultation can help guide you further.

How is your stool? Hard/normal/loose? If there is irritation and bulkiness only without any pain or bleeding or pile mass, you can take sitz bath 15 mins daily in triphala kwath then dry the area properly with cotton cloth and apply jatyadi taila in and around anus. Before sleep, insert 10ml jatyadi taila per rectum with a red rubber catheter 8 no. And syringe. No need of oral medicine if stool is okay.
