It is deeply distressing to hear about the sequence of events you’ve endured since your 2018 surgery. The path from a hysterectomy to recurrent UTIs, and then to pulmonary hypertension, is a heavy burden to carry. The Connection: UTI Meds and IC To address your question directly: while high-dosage antibiotics/injections are not typically the “direct” cause of Interstitial Cystitis, they can play a significant role in the pathology of the bladder environment. Microbiome Disruption: Frequent, high-dose antibiotics can wipe out the “good” protective bacteria in the bladder and pelvic region. This can lead to a state of chronic low-grade inflammation or “leaky bladder” syndrome. Nerve Sensitization: Long-term irritation from recurrent infections can sensitize the nerves in the bladder wall. Even after the bacteria are gone, the nerves continue to send “pain” signals, which is a hallmark of IC. The Hysterectomy Factor: Surgery in the pelvic area can sometimes lead to pelvic floor dysfunction or nerve trauma, which are known triggers for the development of IC symptoms later on. The Ayurvedic View In Ayurveda, your condition is a complex manifestation of Vata and Pitta imbalance in the Basti (bladder). Vata Aggravation: The hysterectomy (surgery/trauma) and the “dryness” caused by long-term medications have aggravated Vata, leading to the chronic pain and hypersensitivity you feel. Pitta Imbalance: The “Ushna” (hot/sharp) nature of heavy antibiotics and recurrent infections has “burnt” the Sleshaka Kapha (the protective mucosal lining of the bladder), leaving it vulnerable to the acidity of urine. Dhatu Kshaya: The progression to the lungs (Pulmonary Hypertension) suggests the imbalance has spread through the Rasa and Rakta channels, affecting the systemic circulation. For IC and bladder healing, the goal is to “cool” the inflammation (Pitta) and restore the protective lining (Kapha). Here is a protocol focusing on liquid and traditional preparations for better absorption. 1. Sukumaram Kwath : Excellent for post-surgical pelvic health and soothing Vata-related pain. 15 ml mixed with 45 ml lukewarm water, twice daily (empty stomach). 2. Varanadi Kwath Helps in reducing “IC belly” (inflammation/swelling) and clearing the urinary channels. 15 ml mixed with 45 ml lukewarm water, twice daily (30 mins before food). 3. Chandanasavam A cooling fermented preparation that acts as a natural diuretic and soothes the burning sensation. 20 ml with equal amount of water, twice daily after meals. 4. Guggulutiktaka Ghritam Medicated ghee that helps repair the deep tissue (GAG layer) of the bladder. 1 teaspoon mixed in warm water/milk early in the morning.

Pulmonary Hypertension is usually not directly caused by UTI medicines But Very strong repeated antibiotics or injections Long illness, stress, infections Can weaken body and may indirectly contribute Need personal consultation for better examination and treatment

Your situation is a bit complex, but let me clarify clearly. Interstitial cystitis (IC) is not directly caused by UTI medicines (antibiotics). However, repeated UTIs + prolonged antibiotic use can irritate and sensitize the bladder lining, which can lead to symptoms similar to IC. So in your case, it is more likely: Recurrent UTI → repeated inflammation of bladder → long-term irritation → IC-type symptoms Hysterectomy can also contribute, because after surgery there can be changes in pelvic support, bladder sensitivity, or nerve irritation, which increases chances of chronic bladder symptoms. Regarding lung hypertension, that is not a usual effect of UTI antibiotics, so that needs separate evaluation with your physician. Now what to do: Avoid repeated unnecessary antibiotics unless infection is clearly confirmed by urine test. Keep good hydration, but do not overdrink excessively. Avoid bladder irritants: Spicy food Caffeine (tea/coffee) Citrus fruits in excess Very sour or fermented food Do not hold urine for long. Medicines: Chandraprabha vati 1 tablet twice daily after food Gokshuradi guggulu 2 tablets twice daily after food Varunadi kwath 15 ml with equal water twice daily after food Yashtimadhu churna 1 gram twice daily These help soothe bladder lining and reduce burning. If burning is severe: Take coconut water regularly (if suitable), it helps cooling effect. Important: Whenever symptoms increase, do urine routine test to check if it is infection or only irritation. Treatment differs for both. If blood in urine, severe pain, or fever occurs, immediate medical care is needed. This condition improves slowly with bladder calming and avoiding triggers. For proper long-term bladder care plan, you can consult me.

The history you given above is due to imbalance of aggravated vata pitta which irritate the lining of bladder Chronic antibiotic use can further deplete the mucus protection and cause pain to the body So we will focus on bladder cleansing healing the lining and managing the secondary lung hypertension 1) Chandraprabha Vati -2 tablet twice daily after food 2) punarnavadi Kashayam- 15 ml with 45 ml Luke warm water before food 3) Sukumar kwath- 15 ml twice daily 4) dhanvantaram (101 )capsule- one capsule twice daily before food 5) guggulutiktakam ghritam- one teaspoon With warm water in morning Drink coriander water throughout the day Include sweet juicy fruits green vegetables cow ghee moong dal kulthi Dal in your diet Avoid spicy sour salty food Avoid caffeine and carbonated Avoid suppressing the natural urge to urinate Practice Pranayam daily Apply dhanvantaram Thailam on lower abdomen follow by warm compress
