1.Localized Treatment (Sthanika Chikitsa) •Avagaha Sweda (Sitz Bath): This is the single most effective immediate measure for relieving sitting pain and muscle spasms. How to do it: Fill a tub with comfortably warm water. Add 2 tablespoons of Panchvalkal Kwath churna or a few drops of Jatyadi Taila to the water. Sit in this water for 15–20 minutes daily after bowel movements. •Abhyanga (Local Application): Instead of standard over-the-counter creams, switch to classical Ayurvedic formulations that promote tissue healing and soothe burning. •Jatyadi Taila: A highly celebrated classical oil formulated with cooling and healing herbs (like Jasmine, Neem, and Patola). Apply gently inside and around the anal canal using a clean finger or applicator before and after defecation. •Kashiadi Taila: If there are palpable, painful pile masses, this oil helps in gradually reducing their size and relieving the deep-seated pain. 2. Internal Ayurvedic Formulations (Abhyantara Chikitsa) To Relieve Burning & Inflammation (Pitta Shamana): •Triphala Guggulu: 2 tablets twice a day after meals with warm water. It acts as an excellent anti-inflammatory (Shothahara) and aids in healing mucosal linings. •Kamadhudha Ras / Praval Pishti: 250 mg twice a day before meals. These are potent classical cooling formulations that pacify internal Ushna (heat) and Tikshna (sharp) attributes of Pitta, directly reducing the burning sensation. ••To Soften Stool & Correct Vata (Anulomana): •Triphala Churna or Haritaki Churna: 1 teaspoon with lukewarm water at bedtime. If constipation is stubborn, Abhayarishta (15–20 ml mixed with an equal quantity of water, twice daily after meals) is highly recommended to stimulate healthy peristalsis without irritating the colon. What to Strictly Avoid (Apathya) •Spicy (Katu), pungent, and deeply fried foods. •Excessive consumption of green chilies, pickles, and garam masala. •Straining during bowel movements. •Prolonged, continuous sitting on hard surfaces. (Use a soft cushion if you must sit for work). What to Include (Pathya) •High-fiber, easily digestible foods like Khichdi, oats, and green leafy vegetables. •Buttermilk (Takra): Fermented with a pinch of roasted cumin (Jeera) powder and rock salt. Buttermilk is considered the ultimate Amrutha (nectar) for anal disorders in Ayurveda. •Adequate hydration (at least 2.5 to 3 liters of warm or room-temperature water daily). •A teaspoon of Cow’s Ghee (Gau Ghrita) mixed in warm milk or food at night to naturally lubricate the digestive tract.
