“Arjunarishta is traditionally used in Ayurveda as a cardiotonic (Hridya). In patients with ischemic heart disease, it may help as a supportive therapy by improving cardiac strength, reducing fatigue, palpitations, mild anxiety, and exertional discomfort. The main ingredient, Terminalia arjuna (Arjuna), is known for its antioxidant and cardioprotective properties and may support lipid control and overall cardiovascular health. However, it should only be used as an adjunct and not as a replacement for prescribed cardiac medicines after angioplasty and stenting. Regular follow-up, BP monitoring, and continuation of all allopathic cardiac medications are essential.”

••As an Ayurvedic professional, I completely understand and respect your desire to integrate traditional therapies like Arjunarishta to support your cardiovascular system, especially after undergoing an angioplasty and managing four stents. Critical Drug Interactions to Consider Your current prescription is a meticulously balanced regimen designed to keep your stents open, control your blood pressure, and manage your lipid profile. Introducing ••Arjunarishta can disrupt this balance in the following ways: 1. Risk of Bleeding (Interaction with Deplatt A 75) •Your Medicine: Deplatt A 75 is a powerful combination of two antiplatelet blood thinners (Aspirin + Clopidogrel). It prevents dangerous blood clots from forming inside your four stents.
••The Risk: Arjuna has natural anti-platelet and mild anticoagulant properties. Combining it with a dual antiplatelet therapy significantly increases your risk of internal bleeding, easy bruising, or gastrointestinal bleeding.
2. Risk of Severe Low Blood Pressure (Interaction with Metsun R and Nitrocontin) •Your Medicines: Metsun R 50/5 (Metoprolol + Ramipril) controls your heart rate and relaxes your blood vessels. Nitrocontin 6.4 (Nitroglycerin) dilates coronary arteries to ensure adequate blood flow to the heart.
••The Risk: Arjunarishta exerts a notable hypotensive (blood pressure-lowering) effect. Taking it alongside an ACE-inhibitor, a Beta-blocker, and a nitrate can trigger a synergistic effect, causing your blood pressure to drop unexpectedly low (hypotension), leading to dizziness, weakness, or fainting.
3. Gastric Irritation (Interaction with Resi 40 DSR) •Your Medicine: Resi 40 DSR (Rabeprazole + Domperidone) is prescribed to protect your stomach lining from the acidity and irritation commonly caused by daily Aspirin use. ••The Risk: Arjunarishta contains naturally occurring self-generated alcohol and organic acids from fermentation. In a sensitive stomach already handling daily antiplatelets, it can cause gastric irritation, hyperacidity, or diminish the protective effect of your antacid
