Experiencing homonymous hemianopia, which is a loss of half the field of vision on the same side in both eyes, can be concerning, especially post-surgery. This condition often occurs due to brain issues, where signals from one side of the brain that controls vision are interrupted. First and foremost, it’s crucial to consult a neurologist, since they specialize in brain and nerve disorders, and can provide a detailed analysis of your condition related to the effects of surgical interventions.

While awaiting your appointment, considering some ayurvedic practices might help ease your discomfort. Ayurveda teaches us that such conditions often arise due to imbalances, primarily Vata dosha in this context. Here’s a simple guideline that might support your journey:

1. Dietary Adjustments: Incorporate Vata-pacifying foods – think of warm, well-cooked meals with healthy oils like ghee. Regularly indulge in sweet, sour, and salty tastes which are considered grounding for Vata.

2. Lifestyle Tips: Ensure that you’re not exhausting yourself mentally. Practices like meditation and mild yoga, particularly such poses as Shavasana (corpse pose) and Pranayama (gentle breathing exercises), can be soothing.

3. Herbal Support: Consider using Brahmi, known for its cognitive benefits, in your routine. Consumption should be cautious – a decoction or supplement as per an ayurveda doctor’s advice. Do not self-prescribe.

4. Routine: Establish a calming daily routine, with equal measures of rest, relaxation, and light exercise to encourage balance in the nervous system.

However, this advice should not delay your consultation with a neurologist or ophthalmologist. They can offer diagnostic tests such as MRIs or visual field tests to determine the cause and guide potential rehabilitation methods. Time is of the essence, and seeking professional medical help must be your priority to understand this condition thoroughly.
