Sure thing! Nearsightedness, or myopia, in Ayurveda can be looked at by understanding the doshas, mainly focusing on Pitta dosha’s balance and maintaining good eye health. The condition is often linked to Pitta imbalanace, which affects vision.

What you might first wanna look at is your diet. Have foods that’s cooling like cucumber, amla (Indian gooseberry), and rose water. These have pitta-pacifyin potential. You could also try Triphala churna, an Ayurvedic formulation that’s super beneficial for eye health. Just take around a teaspoon with water at night before you hit the bed.

Eye exercises? Totally, these can be helpful too. Try palming – rub your hands together till they’re warm and gently cup your eyes for a couple of minutes. Do this in a quiet place where you won’t be interrupted. It’s as much about relaxing your eyes as it is about improving them.

Don’t forget about lighting. Dim lights don’t do favors for your Pitta. Make sure you have good lighting when reading or working on screens. Also, give your eyes regular breaks from screens, atleast every 20 minutes. Look at something 20 feet away for just 20 seconds. Remember that the modern era of too-much screen time could make the further strain on the eyes.

Now for external procedures – some good options in Ayurveda are Netra Tarpana, a therapeutic procedure where ghee is held around the eyes to rejuvenate them, or herbal eyewashes with triphala water. Of course, these should be done under proper guidance.

For a comprehensive treatment plan get a detailed consulatation with an experienced Ayurveda practitioner. Your constitution and lifestyle should ideally be assessed to come up with all-round strategies that match your specific needs. Keep an open communication with any ongoing conventional eye treatments, they can work together smoothly with Ayurveda!
