Hair fall can be concerning, and as a BAMS student, I’m sure you’re aware that Ayurveda approaches it holistically. Sounds like you might be experiencing a dosha imbalance, likely Vata or Pitta which can affect the scalp’s health. Let’s look into some practical steps to help manage this.

Firstly, focus on your diet. Ayurveda teaches that Ahara (food) plays a crucial role. Include foods that pacify Vata and Pitta like warm foods, ghee, nuts, sesame seeds, and milk. Hydration is critical so ensure you’re drinking enough water. Avoid processed and fried foods as they can increase Pitta and aggravate hair problems.

In terms of oils, Ayurveda recommends regular head massages to nourish the scalp. Try using coconut or sesame oil. Warm the oil slightly before massaging it into your scalp and leave it on for at least 30 minutes before washing it out. This helps the oil penetrate the roots better. If oil doesn’t stay, it might be due to an overactive Pitta, so it’s essential to maintain a cool head, both physically and emotionally.

Try incorporating herbs like Amla (Indian gooseberry) and Brahmi in your diet and hair care regimen. Amla is rich in Vitamin C and works wonders in improving hair strength and Brahmi soothes and nourishes the scalp. You could lightly massage amla juice onto the scalp.

Ground your lifestyle in regular routines: maintain a consistent sleep schedule, exercise moderately, and practice meditation or pranayama if possible. Stress can play a significant role in hair fall, so ensuring mental peace is just as important.

Lastly, given your student lifestyle, ensure you’re not staying up too late or skipping meals, as both could increase Vata and aggravate hair loss. Though, consult a physician if this persists to rule out any underlying conditions.
