It sounds like you’re experiencing hair loss as well as some menstrual irregularities, and it’s important to look at these issues holistically. In Ayurveda, hair loss can be related to imbalances in the doshas, particularly Pitta dosha, along with poor absorption and nourishment affecting the dhatus, especially the asthi dhatu (related to bone and hair health).

Firstly, it would be beneficial to focus on balancing your Pitta. Incorporating a Pitta-pacifying diet can be quite helpful. Include cooling, calming and lightweight foods in your diet like cucumbers, melons, and leafy vegetables. Avoid excessive spices, caffeinated drinks and fried foods, as they can aggravate Pitta. Also consider adding amla (Indian gooseberry) to your daily routine, an excellent hair tonic, it can be consumed fresh or as amla powder with water.

For your menstrual health, consider using herbs like Shatavari, known for balancing female hormones and nourishing the body. You can take it as a powder mixed with warm milk, which can also aid in maintaining a healthy cycle. Ensure that you maintain regular meal times and include enough healthy fats like ghee or coconut oil, as this also supports hormonal balance.

Regarding the Vitamin D issue, exposure to sunlight for just 15-20 minutes a day can help your body produce Vitamin D naturally. Continue to monitor your Vitamin D levels as advised by your healthcare provider.

Stress and anxiety often exacerbate hair loss, so practice relaxation techniques like yoga or meditation. Even a short, 10-minute session daily can be incredibly effective.

Try a gentle scalp massage with lukewarm sesame oil or coconut oil two to three times a week. This not only nourishes the scalp but also improves circulation to the hair follicles. It’s essential to wash your hair with a mild, herbal shampoo and avoid chemical-laden products.

Consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner to ensure that these strategies align with your individual nature (prakriti) and imbalances (vikruti). Taking a holistic approach by aligning your diet, lifestyle, and mind can help you gain control over your health.
