can we eat papaya and curd together - #25594

I am really confused about something – can we eat papaya and curd together? My mom always says no, but I've seen some recipes that use them together, and I don’t know what the deal is! Like, a few weeks ago, I had this awful stomach ache after having a smoothie with papaya and yogurt in it. I thought it was just something I ate, but now I’m wondering if it was the mix of papaya and curd that messed me up. I heard that combination can sometimes cause digestive issues... but then, I read about people who love having both for breakfast and swear by the health benefits. Ugh, I really don’t get it! If papaya and curd are so conflicting, why do some places promote them together?? I’m a bit scared to try that combo again. Has anyone else had a weird reaction or tummy trouble with papaya and curd? What’s the truth?? Would love some insight before I risk it!

This way you avoid their interaction in the digestive tract. Ensuring good digestive fire (agni) is crucial for maintaining health, so be mindful of your body’s signals and how it reacts to certain foods. Additionally, consuming curd during the daytime is preferred, as it is easier to digest.

Experiment with other fruits that complement curd better, like berries, which have less conflicting tastes when mixed with dairy. And if digestive issues persist, consider consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner to evaluate your doshic balance and offer tailored advice. Stay attuned to your body’s reactions and adjust your diet accordingly!
