When dealing with food allergies such as to milk and besan, Ayurveda emphasizes managing agni (digestive fire) and soothing any dosha imbalance. First, immediate and complete avoidance of milk and besan and their derived products is crucial. Since your symptoms are quite severe, working alongside a healthcare provider for comprehensive management remains paramount.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, allergies often indicate an imbalance, typically involving Pitta and sometimes Kapha dosha. Focusing on diet and lifestyle to balance your specific constitutional needs can be beneficial. Start with a Pitta-pacifying diet. This includes eating foods that are cooling and soothing in nature, like cucumbers, sweet fruits like pears and melons, and vegetables such as zucchini. Coconut water or aloe vera juice can also be soothing.
Herbs play an integral role too. Haridra (Turmeric) is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and can help soothe rashes. Consider incorporating it into your diet as a spice or taken with warm water. Guduchi, another excellent herb, strengthens the immune system and supports detoxification. Ashwagandha might help regulate your body’s response to allergens—speak with an Ayurvedic practitioner for specific dosages.
Improving digestive fire is another core principle. Beginning meals with a small piece of ginger with a pinch of rock salt can aid digestion. Additionally, Triphala taken at night with warm water helps in detoxifying and regulating digestion.
Implement calming and cooling practices such as Yoga and Pranayama can also be beneficial. Gentle yoga postures and deep breathing exercises help reduce stress and support overall health. Incorporate practices like meditation to manage stress, which can exacerbate allergy symptoms.
Lastly. consider Ayurvedic detoxification treatments like Panchakarma; these should be performed under strict supervision of an experienced practitioner. Do not self-prescribe, as specific recommendations can vary widely based on individual health needs and conditions. Always follow immediate medical advice for severe symptoms.
