I have heard a lot about the health benefits of amla, but I want to understand more about amla benefits in Bengali because my family follows traditional Ayurvedic remedies and prefers to read about them in Bengali. I recently learned that amla is one of the most powerful superfoods in Ayurveda, but I don’t know how to use it properly for different health benefits. One of the most common amla benefits in Bengali I read about is its ability to boost immunity and digestion. Some people say drinking amla juice on an empty stomach helps in improving gut health and reducing acidity. But others say raw amla is better than juice because it retains all its nutrients. Which one is more effective? I tried eating raw amla, but it is too sour for me. What is the best way to consume it without losing its benefits? Another important amla benefit in Bengali traditions is its use for hair care. I have heard that applying amla oil strengthens hair roots and prevents dandruff. But some people say drinking amla juice is even more effective for hair growth. Should amla be applied externally or consumed internally for better hair health? আমলাকে নিয়ে তো বলতেই হয়, এটাকে আমাদের আয়ুর্বেদের আশীর্বাদ মানা হয়। বাঙালিদের মধ্যে আগে থেকেই আমলা নিয়ে প্রচুর প্রচলিত বিশ্বাস রয়েছে। হুঁ, ঠিক শুনছো তুমি। আমাদের শরীরের রক্ষাকবচের মতো কাজ করে আমলা। কিন্তু কীভাবে এই কার্পূরপুরী, জনপ্রিয় ফলটা সঠিকভাবে ব্যবহার করবে তা আসলেই জানা দরকার।

তুমি একদমই ঠিক বলেছ, সকাল সকাল খালি পেটে আমলার রস খেলে হজম বাড়ে আর অম্বল কমায়। তবে রসের তুলনায় কাঁচা আমলা ক্র্যাকিং শরীরের জন্য আরও বেশি ভাল কারণ এতে পূর্ণ পুষ্টিগুণ থাকে। কিন্ত উফ, আবার কাঁচা আমলার সেই টক স্বাদ বেশ কষ্টকর, তাই না? এক কাজ করো, এক গ্লাস গরম জলে তাজা আমলার কুচি করে কিছুটা মধু মিশিয়ে খাও।

চুলের যত্নের জন্য দেখি আমাদের দাদুরা বাড়িতেই আমলা তেল বানিয়ে নিয়েছে। সত্যিই, আমলা তেল মাথায় লাগালে চুলের মূলে জোর আনে আর খুশকির সমস্যা থেকে মুক্তি দেয়। এটাও ঠিক যে, আমলার রস খেলে ভিতর থেকে তুমি মাথার সাথে বাকি শরীরের উপকারও পাবে।

এবার বলি রক্তে শর্করার কন্ট্রোলে আর মেদ ঝরাতে আমলার ভূমিকার কথা। আয়ুর্বেদে মানা হয় যে প্রতিদিন এক কাপ আমলার রস বা কাঁচা আমলা খেলে শরীরের মেটাবলিজম বাড়ে আর রক্তের শর্করা নিয়ন্ত্রণে থাকে।

তবে মাথায় রাখতে হবে, যদি কোণ পুরোনো সমস্যা থাকে বা নির্দিষ্টভাবে যেটা করতে মানা করা হয়েছে, চিকিৎসকের কাছে যাওয়া উচিৎ। আমলার আরো কোনও বিশেষ ভূমিকা বা ভিন্ন অনুসঙ্গ থাকলে বলো, আমি সাহায্য করবো, কারণ আমরা স্বাস্থ্যরক্ষা করি যথারীতি সঠিক উপায়ে, তাহলেই ভালো থাকা যায়।
