Hi Noriel,
Do you have a history of Hemorrhoids? How does your daily diet look like? Does it pain when you have a bowel movement? When was the colonoscopy done and are you still taking the medicines?
Hi, Your rectal bleeding for two years suggests an underlying issue like chronic hemorrhoids, anal fissures, or inflammation in the intestines. Do you experience pain, itching, or mucus in the stool? do you have chronic constipation? Is the bleeding bright red or dark? Since your colonoscopy found worms/parasites, Ayurveda focuses on removing toxins (Ama), healing the intestines, and improving digestion.
Start with Kutaja Ghana Vati (1 tablet twice daily) to cleanse the intestines and control bleeding. Take Aragwadhadi Kashayam (15ml with warm water twice daily) for worm infestation and inflammation. Apply Jatyadi Taila externally to promote healing if hemorrhoids or fissures are present. Avoid spicy, fried, and heavy foods—instead, eat easily digestible meals like moong dal khichdi, buttermilk, and pomegranate juice.
Ah, it sounds like you’re really dealing with quite a persistent issue, I’m sorry to hear that. Rectal bleeding for two years, it’s no joke, I can only imagine how concerning and uncomfortable that is. While modern medical interventions are important for something like this, we can also think about Ayurveda’s view here, especially in terms of digestion and imbalance.
In Ayurveda, bleeding issues like this could be linked to Pitta dosha imbalance. We’re talking excess heat in the body, which needs calming. If you’re experiencing any burning, it’s definetely that. From the Ayurvedic lens, think about reducing Pitta, so cooling foods like cucumber, coconut water and pumpkin could help. Avoid spicy, oily or heavy meals, alcohol, and caffeine - they just add to the heat.
Digestive fire, or agni, really plays a part here too. Maybe it’s a bit weak or irregular? Consider Triphala every night before bed—it’s gentle and supports regular bowel movements. Half a teaspoon in warm water should do the trick. If they seem a bit strong after a couple days, reduce the amount.
Let’s talk lifestyle too. Stay hydrated, and get moderate exercise, but don’t overdo it, because excessive exercise can aggravate Pitta. Yoga or simple stretching is more your pace. Also, practice pranayam like nadi shodhana, alternate nostril breathing, to calm the mind and balance your energies.
However, I must say, if the bleeding persists or worsens, it would be very wise to talk with your healthcare provider. You do not want to overlook something that might require immediate medical attention. Ayurveda supports healing but complementing it with professional medical advice of utmost importance for what seems to be ongoing and serious.
