Hi Walmiki, I’m sorry to hear about your father’s health challenges. 1. Has your father been prescribed any medications for his hypertension or kidney damage, and is he currently on any treatments for the stroke rehabilitation? 2. What is his current diet and daily routine? Is he experiencing any discomfort or specific symptoms, like fatigue, swelling, or loss of appetite? 3. How is his mental state and cognitive function post-stroke? Is he able to communicate or engage in some form of mental activity?

Addressing your dad's complex situation requires a mix of cautious optimism and practical steps. His kidney health and mobility can benefit from Ayurveda, but keep in mind these interventions should ideally complement existing medical treatments, not replace them. First, evaluating his current diet is imperative. Since he shows signs of severe kidney damage, it's crucial to limit sodium intake as it can elevate blood pressure and burden the kidneys. Encourage him to eat foods that are less processed as they often have hidden salt. Be sure to balance this diet with plenty of hydration, but not overly so, in accordance with his kidney doctor’s advice. Implement herbal support which can help fortify the kidneys. Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) is one herb traditionally used in Ayurveda to support urinary health. Mix 1 teaspoon of Gokshura powder with warm water, taking it once in the morning on an empty stomach. For his paralysis resulting from the stroke, constant mobilization and therapy are key. Gandharvahastadi Eranda Taila, a type of medicated castor oil, can be used for gentle massage around the affected areas to improve circulation. Do this twice a day if he tolerates it comfortably. His hypertension needs to be managed meticulously. Introduce stress-reducing practices: even simple breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) can be beneficial. Try doing this twice daily, gently, for about 10 minutes while seated. His body constitution or "Prakriti" might be showing signs of Vata imbalance, which could be linked to his symptoms. Adopting a Vata-pacifying lifestyle that includes warm, lubricating foods and avoiding stressors could help. That being said, his critical condition calls for collaboration with healthcare professionals who can monitor vital parameters closely. Maintain regular check-ups so treatments can be adjusted as necessary. In cases of any discomforts or emergency signs, seeking immediate medical attention is a must.
