But how do I know if what I’m feeling is actual depression and not just stress or burnout? Are there specific signs or symptoms that differentiate depression from regular sadness? I also read that depression can be caused by multiple factors like genetics, trauma, hormonal imbalances, and even diet. Could things like Vitamin D deficiency or gut health issues contribute to depression? And if so, can fixing these problems help alleviate symptoms? For years, I struggled with terrible digestive issues bloating, stomach cramps, and this constant feeling of heaviness after every meal. It didn’t matter what I ate, even the so-called “healthy” stuff would mess me up. Some days I’d feel fine, and then the next, I’d be in so much discomfort I couldn’t even focus on work or enjoy time with my family. I tried everything antacids, probiotics, different diets, cutting out foods one by one nothing worked for more than a week or two. Doctors just kept saying it was IBS and gave me more meds, but I was tired of taking pills that didn’t actually fix anything. Then I randomly came across this forum, while scrolling late at night looking for help. I posted my story, not really expecting much, but Dr. Sujal replied, and wow, I’m so glad she did.
