You should visit a nearby Panchakarma center, where treatments such as Agnikarma, Kati Basti, and appropriate medications can be administered. With proper Ayurvedic management, the condition can be effectively controlled without the need for surgery.

Considering the severe nature of your mother's symptoms, particularly the numbness and her inability to sit, it's crucial to weigh all options. While Ayurveda offers many wonderful remedies and therapies, in situations where there's severe nerve compression or risk of permanent damage, surgery might be necessary. The numbness in her legs, along with the inability to sit, suggests nerve impingement which, if left untreated could lead to long-term issues. However, before proceeding with surgery, supporting her condition with Ayurvedic approaches might provide some temporary relief and support her overall system. In Ayurveda, back pain and related disc issues are often linked to an imbalance in the Vata dosha, when aggravated, it can affect the bones and nerves (Asthi & Majja Dhatu). Ayurveda focuses on reducing this imbalance through diet, lifestyle, and therapeutic interventions: 1. **Dietary Adjustments**: Emphasize warm, cooked, and easy-to-digest foods. Avoid cold and raw foods. Include cooked green leafy vegetables, whole grains like rice, and adequate hydration. Adding a teaspoon of ghee to meals can have nourishing effects. 2. **Lifestyle Advice**: Encourage gentle movements and avoid sudden jerks. While she shouldn't sit for prolonged periods, lying flat on a firm bed might provide relief. Introduce mild stretching exercises, after consulting a physiotherapist who understands her condition well. 3. **Pain Relief Measures**: Local application of herbal oils like mahanarayan taila or dhanvantaram taila may offer some relief. These should be applied gently and followed by a warm compress. 4. **Herbal Assistance**: Offer her ayurvedic supplements like 'Bala' (Sida cordifolia) and 'Guggulu,' which support nervous health. Ensure any herbal intake is supervised by an Ayurvedic professional to address her unique constitution and condition. 5. **Panchakarma Therapy**: Therapies like Kati Basti or Pizhichil might be helpful. They involve pooling medicated oil over the back, providing nourishment and soothing to the area. Such treatments, however, should be administered in a certified Ayurvedic center. Ultimately the urgency, especially with numbness appearing, points to consulting her current healthcare providers about the immediacy of safe interventions that'll ensure no long-term damage. Balancing Ayurveda's supportive measures with allopathic input can pave a well-rounded path to her recovery.
