Psoriasis, along with the symptoms you've described like bloating, gastric issues, and constipation, suggests a potential imbalance in your doshas, particularly Pitta and Vata. In Ayurveda, psoriasis is often associated with an imbalance in the Kapha and Vata dosha which manifest in your body. Here are some guidelines to help manage these symptoms. First, focusing on your diet is essential. Implement a Pitta-pacifying diet, minimizing hot, spicy, and oily foods as they can aggravate your condition. Instead, incorporate cooling foods like cucumbers, melons, and leafy greens. Whole grains such as basmati rice and quinoa are beneficial. It's good to include carrots, beets, and sweet potatoes that support your skin and digestion. In terms of daily routine, practicing Abhyanga (self-massage) with cooling oils like coconut or olive oil can soothe skin inflammation and nourish your skin. Try to do this before showering, letting the oil sit for about 20 minutes. This should ease the dryness associated with psoriasis. Regular exercise, specifically yoga or brisk walking in the early morning, helps maintain balance in your doshas and aids digestion. Serious about your digestive fire, Agni, which appears weak due to bloating and constipation. Consider drinking warm water with a teaspoon of ginger and lemon each morning. Triphala churna, a classical Ayurvedic formulation, can further support digestive health and regular bowel movements. Take it at night with warm water. For facial redness, applying a soothing aloe vera gel or sandalwood paste can be calming. Avoid harsh chemical-based products; opt for natural remedies, and make sure you're well-hydrated, sipping water throughout the day to flush out toxins. Remember to maintain a consistent sleep schedule, ensuring you get 7-8 hours of rest each night. Allow yourself time for adequate stress-relieving practices, such as meditation or deep breathing exercises, which are crucial. If the symptoms persist or exacerbate, seeking further personalized consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner can provide more targeted interventions for your unique constitution. Stay mindful of your body, observing how it responds to these changes.
