For your prostate concern, Ayurvedic principles can indeed offer some support, though it’s important to recognize that while Ayurveda can assist with symptom management and improving overall health, a complete cure for an enlarged prostate (BPH) may not be feasible. Integrating Ayurvedic approaches with conventional medical care is often beneficial.

First, let’s look at dietary adjustments. Incorporate pumpkin seeds into your meals; they contain elements believed to support prostate health. Having a handful, about 20-30 g, daily can be helpful. Additionally, include foods rich in zinc like nuts and seeds. Turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory properties, can also be beneficial; add it to your dishes freely.

Herbal remedies are another area to explore. Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) is commonly used in Ayurveda for prostate health. You can take Gokshura powder, about 1 teaspoon twice daily mixed with warm water. Also, Varuna (Crataeva nurvala) helps with urinary health, and an extract can be consumed. Consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for precise formulations and dosages suitable for your constitution and condition.

Lifestyle practices matter too. Engage in regular light exercises like walking or yoga, which can aid in managing stress and improving circulation, both beneficial for prostate health. Pranayama, especially Anulom Vilom and Bhramari, practiced for 10-15 minutes daily, can also help.

Hydration should not be completely restricted. While drinking less at night helps with nocturnal urination, ensure you are adequately hydrated during the day. Aim for regular daytime fluid intake, adhering to your body’s needs.

Importantly, communicate with your doctor about these practices, especially if there are any ongoing treatments or medications. While Ayurveda offers valuable support, any sudden changes or severe symptoms should be promptly discussed with a healthcare professional. Regular check-ups and monitoring your condition are essential for managing your health effectively.

The issue you’re facing with your prostate enlargement is a common concern, especially as you mentioned you’re 60. While Ayurveda, including Siddha-Ayurvedic traditions, doesn’t promise absolute cures, it aims to manage symptoms and balance doshas to support prostate health. Your issue with urination can relate to vitiation of the Vata dosha, affecting the urinary system.

Begin with dietary changes. Increase intake of warm and cooked foods. Avoid spicy, fried, and processed foods. Focus on foods like barley, rice, and vegetables like cucumbers and carrots, which are soothing to Vata. Incorporating pumpkin seeds in your diet can also support prostate health.

Herbal remedies play a role. Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) is traditionally used to support urinary functions and manage prostate issues. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) can help strengthen overall health. Take these under guidance from an Ayurvedic practitioner, ensuring the right dosage for your body type.

Practically, staying active is important. Gentle yoga poses focused on the pelvic area, such as Supta Baddha Konasana, may support prostate function. Also, maintaining a routine sleep cycle and facilitating stress management techniques like Pranayama can keep Vata in balance.

Continue monitoring your condition with regular check-ups from a healthcare provider. Pay attention if symptoms worsen significantly; it’s important to consult a specialist. While Ayurvedic treatments offer support, they should complement conventional approaches when needed, especially if new symptoms appear or current ones change.
