When managing peptic ulcers, food choices play a significant role. Firstly, it’s important to avoid spicy foods, acidic foods like citrus fruits and tomatoes, caffeine, and alcohol as these can irritate the stomach lining and exacerbate ulcers. High-fat foods, fried items, and processed foods should also be minimized. Instead, opt for a diet that soothes your digestive tract. Include plenty of whole grains, vegetables (especially cooked, which are easier on the stomach), and non-citrus fruits. Ginger, known for its anti-inflammatory properties, can help; try ginger tea or adding fresh ginger to meals.

Regarding protein intake, you should focus on lean meats instead of fatty cuts. Eggs and fish, like salmon, can be beneficial due to their omega-3 content. Milk consumption is more variable; some individuals find it soothes their stomach, while others discover it worsens symptoms. If tolerated, small amounts of low-fat milk could be included in your diet. It’s crucial to listen to your body’s response.

Weight loss with peptic ulcers may result from stomach discomfort limiting food intake. Eating smaller, more frequent meals can aid digestion and help manage symptoms more effectively. If persistent, consider seeking medical advice to explore the cause further, as it might need a specific therapeutic approach.

For constipation issues, increase your fiber intake gradually with foods like oatmeal, brown rice, and chia seeds, alongside vegetables and fruits. Hydration is key but also focus on fiber, as the two work best together. If you have to, talk to a doctor about fiber supplements or mild stool softeners to ease passage until dietary measures take effect.

Ayurvedically, Triphala is often recommended to aid digestion and relieve constipation, but it’s best to consult a practitioner before starting any supplement. Aloe vera juice might also soothe the gastrointestinal tract, but again, professional guidance is advised. Always listen to your body, adjusting your dietary and supplementation plan accordingly. If symptoms persist, or weight loss continues, consulting with a healthcare provider is essential, as it may require further investigation and tailored medical treatment.
