Balancing such complex symptoms like anxiety, palpitations, and sleep disturbances calls for a holistic Ayurvedic approach focused on harmonizing Vata dosha, which is often responsible for emotional and mental instability. The previous use of ashwagandha, medha vati, and saraswatarishta are good choices, but we might need to adjust and expand your regimen for more comprehensive management. Let's look at diet first. Focus on a sattvic diet rich in whole grains, fresh vegetables, and warm, nourishing foods. Avoid stimulants like caffeine and sugar as they may aggravate anxiety. Instead, try cumin-coriander-fennel tea after meals to soothe digestion and calm the mind. Drink warm milk with a pinch of turmeric or nutmeg before bed to encourage restful sleep. Creating and sticking to a routine can help stabilize Vata and ground mental energy. Try to wake up and go to bed at the same time everyday. Begin with daily abhyanga (self-massage) using warm sesame oil—it stabilizes Vata and can be deeply calming offered the stress you're under with studies. In terms of specific herbs, Brahmi is outstanding for calming the mind and enhancing concentration without sedation. A daily dose of Brahmi powder in warm water, taken in the morning, might improve focus and ease anxiety. Complementary to brahmi is Jatamansi oil or powder, recommended for evening use; diffuse jatamansi oil or take the powder in warm water. This will aid in sedation-free relaxation and support mood stability. Don't forget pranayama. Practicing Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) daily for 10-15 minutes can harmonize your energies and reduce anxiety. A consultation with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner is essential, especially to ensure the treatments align with your unique constitution and current state of balance. Customizing based on your personal dosha, agni, and dhatu balance can significantly enhance the effectiveness of the regimen. If the heart palpitations persist or worsen, consulting a healthcare provider is recommended to rule out underlying conditions.
