how to remove hair from face - #23254

Noah

I am struggling with how to remove hair from face! It’s been soooo frustrating lately. I’ve tried waxing, shaving, even those creams but nothing seems to last or work well. A couple of months ago, I noticed this fine hair on my cheeks and upper lip becoming more pronounced, which is just so annoying. Friends suggested laser treatments but it sounds so expensive. I've heard about natural ways too, like using turmeric or chickpea flour, but really not sure how to use them effectively. Can anyone guide me on how to remove hair from face safely and naturally? Has anyone had success with the turmeric or any other home remedies? Would love some tips! Thanks!

Hey Noah sending some Natural Remedies to Reduce Facial Hair (Gradually) These won’t give you instant hair removal like waxing or shaving, but over time, they thin the hair, slow regrowth, and are much gentler on sensitive facial skin. 1. Turmeric + Chickpea Flour (Besan) Ubtan This is one of the most effective traditional remedies. Indication- 1 tbsp chickpea flour (besan) ½ tsp turmeric (not too much or it stains) *1 tsp honey or aloe vera gel (optional for hydration) Enough milk or rose water to make a paste Steps: 1. Apply a thin layer on clean face (focus on upper lip, cheeks). 2. Let it dry for 15–20 minutes. 3. Rub gently in circular, upward motions using damp fingers or a soft cloth. 4. Rinse and moisturize. Use 2–3 times a week. Results build gradually over 4–6 weeks. ##Oatmeal & Banana Scrub (Gentle exfoliation + hair thinning) 1 tbsp ground oatmeal 1 mashed ripe banana Mix and apply to the face. Gently scrub for 5–10 minutes, leave for 10 more, then rinse. 🚫 What to Avoid for Facial Skin: Frequent shaving (can make hair look coarser) Hair removal creams (harsh chemicals may cause darkening or irritation) Over-waxing (can damage skin, cause sagging long term)

Ah, facial hair, it can be a real nuisance. But hey, you've got some Ayurvedic wisdom on your side now! Let's talk about a few natural methods you can consider - turmeric and chickpea flour (besan), which you mentioned, are actually spot on. They both have properties that can help slow down hair growth and even aid in removal. Turmeric is not just a wonderful anti-inflammatory but also works quite well for hair removal. Mixed with besan, it can double its effect. To make a paste, you'll want to mix 2 tablespoons of chickpea flour with 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder and add a little milk or rose water to form a paste. Apply onto the affected areas and let it dry, then gently scrub it off in circular motion. Don’t forget to do this every alternate day for a couple of weeks. You’ll notice not just lesser hair but also nice skin glow. Sugar wax is another option if you’re open to a bit more DIY. Heating a mixture of sugar, water, and lemon juice creates a natural wax, and once it's cooled to the right temperature, you can use it much like traditional waxing but it's gentler. Mind the sticky mess — experiment a bit to find the right consistency for you. In the realm of Ayurveda, also consider if there's an underlying imbalance, especially if the hair growth is new or increased. An imbalance in your hormones, related often to the pitta dosha, can be behind it. Focusing on balancing your pitta might help too. So, opt for cooling foods, add more greens, cucumbers, melons and avoid excessive spicy, processed or caffeine-rich foods. Stay hydrated and include yoga and breathing exercises in your routine. A balanced body naturally harmonizes its functions. Remember, consistency is key with natural remedies, as they often require some patience but are gentler on your skin. Do monitor how your skin responds, though; everyone’s skin is unique, and you should adjust as necessary. And if ever you feel overwhelmed, an Ayurveda practitioner can provide personalized guidance. Take care!
