Hello Himanshu Thank you for reaching out. I can Understand your concern regarding IBS and your low weight. IBS causes not only digestive distress but also prevents weight gain, weakness, and emotional discomfort. But dont worrry we are here to help you out **AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE** In Ayurveda, IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is closely related to: 1 Grahani Roga — weakness of the digestive fire (Agni) and intestine 2 Caused by Vata-Pitta imbalance, irregular diet 3 stress, and gut flora imbalance AS you have not mentioned any symptoms but i can guess you must be facing with following symptoms- Alternating constipation & diarrhea Loose stools may be with mucus or blood Bloating, gas, abdominal pain Weak appetite Anxiety Inability to put on weight **How my Ayurvedic treatment will help you??** 1 Strengthen digestion (Deepan & Pachana) 2 Soothe intestines (reduce inflammation) 3 Nourish body to gain healthy weight 4 Calm Vata and pitta 5 stabilize emotions ✅ INTERNAL MEDICATION 1 Dadimadi ghrita 1 tsp morning empty stomach (helps to heal intestinal lining) 2 Mebarid 2-0-2 after food (for ibs) 3 kutajaristha 30ml-0-30ml after food (to improve your bowel movements) 4 Rambhaphala rasyanam 1 tsp at bed time follwed by warm water (for weight gain) 2. Simple, Gut-Friendly Diet Plan **More than medication following a diet for controlling IBS as well as gaining weight is important ** ✅ Eat (light food which are also nourishing ) AS EATING HEAVY FOODS WILL TRIGGER YOUR IBS ☑️Khichdi (moong dal + rice + ghee + cumin) ☑️Steamed lauki, tori, pumpkin, carrot ☑️Roti with ghee and moong dal ☑️Sweet rice with ghee + dry ginger ☑️Milk (if tolerable), ghee, dry fruits (in moderation) ☑️Soaked almonds, dates, raisins (start small) ❌ Avoid: Junk, spicy, oily food Tea/coffee, cold drinks Raw salad, heavy pulses like chana/rajma Curd at night, cold water Overeating or late-night dinner 3. Lifestyle Modification 👉Wake up early and have warm water with ajwain or fennel 👉Eat slowly, chew well — never rush meals 👉Do light yoga, avoid strain 👉Practice Anulom Vilom and Bhramari Pranayama 10 minutes daily 👉Avoid long screen time during/after meals 👉Sleep by 10 pm to support metabolism 4. For Healthy Weight Gain ☑️Ashwagandha lehya — 1 tsp with milk daily ☑️Masha Ksheerapaka (black gram boiled in milk) once a week- ☑️Shatavari + ghee + – ½ tsp after lunch ☑️Add 1 tsp ghee in both lunch and dinner PLS NOTE - Weight gain will be slow but sustainable once digestion becomes stable. Managing IBS effectively requires an individualized approach rooted in understanding your unique dosha imbalances. With Ayurveda, focusing on calming the Vata dosha is often central to addressing IBS. Avoid foods that are dry, light, or cold, since they aggravate Vata. Instead, opt for warm, oily, and soothing foods that nourish and strengthen your digestive fire, or agni. Try incorporating cooked vegetables, grains like rice and oats, warm dairy, and cooked apples or pears into your diet. Avoid raw vegetables and cold foods, as they can be hard on your digestion. You might also want to incorporate spices like cumin, ginger, and fennel into your cooking, as these can help stimulate digestion and reduce bloating. For gaining weight, it's necessary to ensure your agni is strong, focusing on nutrient-dense foods. Include ghee, nuts, dried fruits like dates and figs, and milk or milk products in your meals. Eating consistently throughout the day and ensuring that each meal contains healthy fats can help in achieving weight gain. However, don’t eat if you’re not hungry, as overeating can further disturb your digestion. Lifestyle wise, aim for regular routine. Going to bed early, waking up early, ensuring a set meal schedule is important. Engage in calming activities like yoga, especially practices focused on grounding and calming Vata, such as slow-paced asanas and mindfulness meditation. Hydration is key, but avoid cold drinks which disrupt digestion. Drink warm water or herbal teas, like peppermint or fennel tea, to support digestive health. Remember, if experiencing intense symptoms it's important to consult with a healthcare professional to discuss further interventions and rule out other conditions. Avoid self-prescribing over-the-counter medications without professional advice.

Himanshu ji i would asvice- Step-by-Step Plan: Heal IBS First, Then Gain Weight 1. Heal Your Gut First – Key Priority Without this, weight gain won’t happen. Follow a Low FODMAP + Light Satvik Diet for 2–4 weeks: Avoid: Milk, beans, cabbage, onion, garlic, wheat Fried, fermented, spicy, maida, or sugar-heavy foods Eat: Well-cooked rice with ghee Moong dal (yellow split) – lightest protein Boiled or steamed vegetables – lauki, carrots, spinach Homemade curd (if tolerated) or buttermilk (churned with jeera) Stewed apple or ripe banana (in morning) . Weight Gain Foods (After Gut is Stable) Once your stools become regular and you’re not bloated, start adding strength foods: Food How to Use Banana with ghee + jaggery Daily at 11am Soaked almonds + raisins + dates Morning snack Rice + ghee + dal + curd Lunch – main weight-building combo Boiled potato + rock salt + jeera Evening Ashwagandha + Shatavari powder with milk Night before bed – powerful muscle tonic Avoid raw salads, packaged protein powders, or oats initially — they’re hard to digest during IBS flare. --- ✅ 4. Lifestyle Tips to Reduce IBS Flare Fix meal times (3 meals + 2 light snacks) Avoid cold water or very hot spices Chew food properly (very important!) Don’t lie down right after meals Use warm castor oil or sesame oil on your belly 3x week – soothes gut nerves
