Ranapala, known as Erythrina variegata in Ayurvedic medicine, is traditionally used for a range of health issues, but when it comes to a kidney stone that is as large as 17x13mm, it is crucial to approach the condition with careful consideration. Such a sizable stone can cause significant discomfort and may lead to further complications if not addressed appropriately. While Ranapala may help in easing some symptoms or supporting kidney health, it is usually not potent enough on its own to break down or substantially reduce a large stone like this one.

In Ayurveda, the management of kidney stones often involves addressing imbalances in Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas, which can contribute to stone formation. Here, Pitta dosha, related to heat and inflammation, plays a major role. Natural remedies often recommended include a combination of herbs like Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris), Kulattha (horse gram), and Pashanabheda (Bergenia ligulata), which can help in gradually breaking down smaller stones. However, with large stones, such treatments may not be swift or effective enough alone.

Considering your father’s condition, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare provider or a specialist, as they might recommend procedures like lithotripsy or others to safely address this issue. If his symptoms include severe pain, nausea, or obstruction in urine flow, immediate medical evaluation is necessary.

Ensure your father stays hydrated but within limits suggested by the doctor, as overhydration can sometimes worsen symptoms. Focus on a Pitta-pacifying diet, avoiding spicy, sour, and excessively salty foods. Continued use of Erythrina variegata should be discussed with a healthcare professional to ensure it complements any other treatments.

Dealing with a kidney stone of 17x13mm is quite critical, and it might not pass on its own through oral application of remedies like Ranapala. Kidney stones this size often cause blockage or other complications, so immediate professional medical consultation is essential. A doctor may suggest ways such as surgical or non-invasive procedures to effectively remove or break down the stone.

While Ranapala (Rana palasa) leaves are traditionally used in some practices to support kidney health, relying on them alone for such a large stone isn’t advisable. Ayurveda does have supportive measures to assist in managing kidney stone issues, but they should complement, not replace, conventional medical treatments in such cases.

For supportive Ayurvedic guidance, you could consider incorporating dietary adjustments. Focus should be given to increase intake of fluids, hydrating can help flush out small stones and prevent further formation. Include herbal preparations like Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa) which are known for their renal benefits. However, these alone won’t resolve large stones but may support overall kidney function.

It’s also crucial to minimize consumption of high-oxalate foods like spinach, nuts, and chocolates which can aggravate the condition of those prone to kidney stones. Limiting salt intake is also beneficial.

Your father should continue regular consultations with his healthcare provider to monitor the stone and discuss all possible treatment options. Addressing such significant stones through medical means is vital to avoid damage or further kidney issues. Avoid home treatments alone when it comes to stones of this size without expert consultation.
