how to increase sex drive in women - #37129

Elizabeth

I am feeling really frustrated lately. I’ve noticed that my partner's libido has totally dropped, and it’s like having this huge elephant in the room (or bed, I guess). She used to enjoy intimacy a lot more, but now it’s like pulling teeth! We used to feel really connected, but now she’s just not interested, and I’m starting to worry. I wonder if it might be something physical? I mean, she stresses a lot about work, and I've heard that could also affect things like how to increase sex drive in women. We tried talking about it, but I think she feels embarrassed or shy or something? And I don’t want to push her too hard or make her uncomfortable. The other night, I thought maybe we could try something romantic to get the spark back, you know? Maybe massages or candles? But, honestly, I’m clueless about how to increase sex drive in women in a healthy way, without making her feel pressured. Can anyone share some insights on natural remedies or even lifestyle changes that might help? I just really want us to feel that connection again and not have this awkwardness between us, ugh!

Addressing decreased libido in women can be multifaceted, combining physical, mental&emotional aspects. In Ayurveda, low sex drive is often associated with an imbalance in the Vata and Kapha doshas, which can manifest due to stress, lifestyle or dietary choices. Let’s explore some natural ways that might help restore balance&enhance intimacy in a compassionate, gentle manner.

First, consider her diet. Encouraging a balanced, nourishing diet can significantly impact overall health and libido. Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like flax seeds and walnuts, provide important nourishment, while spices like saffron and cinnamon are traditionally considered to enhance desire. Warm, cooked meals can pacify Vata, often exacerbated by stress, providing grounding energy.

Ashwagandha, an adaptogenic herb, is revered in Ayurveda for its ability to reduce stress and support emotional wellbeing. Taken as a supplement or in a warm milk before sleep, ashwagandha can promote relaxation, restoring balance. Encourage her to have consistent sleep patterns and incorporate relaxing routines before bed.

Establishing a stress-reducing routine is essential. Practices like meditation, yoga or pranayama (breathing exercises) help soothe the nervous system. Encourage activities she enjoys, creating space for calmness and connection—both with herself and with you. A soothing oil massage with sesame oil can increase circulation, reduce stress, and sometimes enhance desire naturally.

Understandably, your concern is genuine, but communication remains key. Approaching this matter with sensitivity and openness, without pressuring her, is crucial. The focus should be on mutual intimacy, not just physical desire. Encourage discussions outside the bedroom at a comfortable&appropriate time, showing support and understanding.

If the issue persists, considering professional guidance, involving an Ayurvedic practitioner or a healthcare provider, may uncover any underlying issues requiring attention.

Low libido in women can sometimes be linked to stress and lifestyle, and Ayurveda offers several approaches that might help address this in a holistic way. First, considering stress may play a role, bringing balance to the nervous system is key. Encourage her to adopt a vata-pacifying routine, which focuses on grounding and warmth. This means regular daily practices like waking up and sleeping at the same time, eating warm, nourishing meals, and just taking time to relax.

When it comes to food, her diet should be nurturing and strengthening to support the dhatus (tissues) and that includes incorporating foods like dates, almonds, or sesame seeds, which are seen as aphrodisiac in Ayurveda. Warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg or saffron at night might also help.

In addition, herbs such as Ashwagandha or Shatavari may support energy and stamina – Shatavari particularly for women’s health. However, advise her to consult a practitioner before starting any herbal regimen, since individual constitutions matter a lot.

Daily Abhyanga (self-massage with warm sesame oil) can help in promoting calmness and awareness of her body, thus enhancing libido naturally. Encourage her to practice mindfulness and breathing exercises to help mitigate stress.

Support her emotionally by encouraging open conversations without pressure, allowing sensitivity towards her comfort level. If the condition feels beyond self-care, gently suggest seeing a healthcare professional specializing in women’s health to rule out any underlying conditions.
