Yastimadhu, known for calming Vata and Pitta doshas, might offer some relief for anxiety and restless thoughts. Its use is well-documented in classical texts. However, it alone won’t fix everything you’re experiencing. For anxiety and racing thoughts, systematically addressing the root cause is essential. Manas Mitra Vati didn’t work for you, so we need alternatives. Pair yastimadhu with ashwagandha, known for its adaptogenic qualities, helping reduce stress and anxiety.

Your poor agni (digestive fire) coupled with IBS might be worsening your mental state. Start incorporating ginger and cumin in daily meals to strengthen digestion gently. Drink warm water through the day instead of cold to not impede agni further. Avoid heavy, oily, or overly processed foods as they can aggravate Vata and Kapha.

Palpitations with anxiety can also link to Vata imbalance. Regular Abhyanga (self-massage) with sesame oil before a warm shower may help calm Vata. Pay attention to your meal times; regularity can anchor an unstable Vata dosha.

For joint pain, look into using castor oil both topically and internally - consult a local Ayurvedic practitioner for the right dosage and form. Internally, a small amount of castor oil in warm milk at night, only if compatible with your constitution, might help alleviate joint pain.

Incorporate meditation and pranayama like Brahmari and Nadi Shodhana into your routine, twice a day, as they greatly assist in stabilizing mind and body. Yoga postures such as child’s pose and supported backbends can also alleviate tension.

If your symptoms continue or worsen, consulting a medical professional is vital. Ayurveda complements, not replaces, urgent interventions when necessary. Stability in mental , digestive, and joint health will require patience and consistency in these practices.
