It seems you might be experiencing an imbalance in your Pitta dosha, common with feelings of depression, yellowing skin, and weight loss. Ayurveda emphasizes a holistic approach to such conditions, incorporating diet, lifestyle adjustments, and herbs for balance. Depression and long-standing negative thoughts may be linked to aggravated Sadhaka Pitta, associated with emotions and digestion of thoughts. Begin by incorporating Triphala in your routine, a well-known ayurvedic formulation that helps to detoxify the body. Take one teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water before bed every night.
To pacify excess Pitta, consider adding cooling and nourishing foods to your diet, like sweet fruits, cucumbers and melons. Avoid spicy, sour, and salty foods, which can aggravate Pitta further. Include ghee in your meals to improve digestion and help nourish tissues. You may prepare a simple rejuvenating drink: boil 10-15 raisins in a cup of milk, add a pinch of cardamom, and consume daily in the morning. This will help in nourishing and stabilizing body tissues (dhatus).
Ashwagandha is another beneficial herb known for it’s calming and stress-reducing properties. Take 1/4 teaspoon of Ashwagandha powder mixed with warm water or milk twice daily. However, consult with a local Ayurvedic practitioner to tailor these suggestions to your specific health status. Given the severity of these symptoms—particularly the yellow skin—it’s crucial to seek immediate medical consultation to rule out conditions like liver disorders, which Ayurveda cannot solely treat. Addressing the root cause, while integrating holistic approaches could provide relief from these persistent concerns.
