Severe hair fall and premature greying at your age might be signs of underlying dosha imbalances in your body, specifically vata and pitta imbalance. According to Ayurveda, hair health is linked to dhatus, primarily rasa (nutritional fluid) and rakta (blood tissue), and any disturbance in agni or the body’s digestive fire can affect these dhatus severely, leading to the symptoms you describe.

Firstly, addressing your diet is crucial. Incorporate foods that are rich in iron and antioxidants, such as leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and fruits like amla, which is also known for delaying greying. Having a glass of fresh amla juice daily can enhance your hair health and bring back shine, while sesame seeds can help combat greying. Ensure you avoid excessively spicy, hot or acidic foods as these increase pitta, which can worsen both hair fall and greying.

Stress reduction is important too, as mental stress can exacerbate hair loss due to vata aggravation. Regular practice of yoga or meditation for atleast 20 minutes daily can calm the mind and balance doshas. Incorporating a consistent sleep schedule with adequate rest fosters body’s natural healing processes.

Topically, massaging the scalp with oils like bhringraj or coconut oil infused with hibiscus leaves can be very beneficial. Apply warmed oil twice a week and leave it overnight if possible. This helps nourish the hair roots and promote new hair growth while preventing further hair fall.

Digestive health is another aspect. Ensure that your digestion is not sluggish; you might consider taking triphala churna at bedtime to cleanse and improve bowel health, but start with a small amount and adjust as per your body’s response. It’s always advisable to consult a qualified practitioner for personalized dosage instructions.

Lastly, avoid using harsh chemical-laden shampoos or conditioners, switching instead to natural cleansers like shikakai. Be patient with the process. Ayurveda is holistic; it might take some time to see visible results, but these steps should set a foundation for healthier hair over time.

Hairfall and premature graying can be attributed to several factors, including stress, diet, and imbalances in the body’s doshas, particularly pitta dosha which, when aggravated, can lead to hair and skin issues. Addressing these issues from a Siddha-Ayurvedic perspective involves balancing your doshas, enhancing your agni, and nourishing your body tissues, especially the asthi (bones) and shukra (reproductive tissue) dhatus which are directly connected to hair health.

First, consider incorporating more cooling and nourishing foods into your diet to pacify the aggravated pitta. This includes green vegetables, sweet fruits like ripe bananas and papayas, and dairy products like milk and ghee. Avoid spicy, oily, and fried foods, as well as excessive caffeine and alcohol, which can further imbalance pitta.

Begin with a scalp massage using Brahmi or Amla oil. Do this twice a week, ideally in the evening before sleep. Leave the oil in overnight to deeply nourish your scalp. These oils can also help promote new hair growth by invigorating the hair follicles.

Practice alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana Pranayama) for about 5-10 minutes daily. This yoga practice can help reduce stress and balance doshas, particularly pitta and vata.

Internal herbs can also be beneficial. Triphala taken at night before bed can improve digestion (agni) and cleanse the system. Ashwagandha, known for its adaptogenic properties, can help reduce stress and support better hair health when taken under a practitioner’s guidance.

If your hairfall persists or if you notice additional symptoms, it’s essential to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for a personalized assessment, as it may indicate deeper imbalances requiring tailored treatment. Proper rest and stress management are also crucial, as both play significant roles in overall health and well-being.
