Aggressive periodontitis, can be challenging, yet Ayurveda offers pathways to manage and potentially improve the condition. The focus is on balancing the doshas, particularly Pitta and Kapha, as oral health issues are often linked to imbalances in these. Increasing your body’s natural healing capability is also an essential part of the process.

First, let’s talk about Oral hygiene. Oil pulling, or ‘Kavala Gandusha’ using sesame or coconut oil can be quite beneficial. Do this once daily, gently swishing the oil in your mouth for about 10-15 minutes, then spit it out. This not only helps to remove toxins but also strengthens the gums and teeth. Use Triphala powder to brush teeth twice daily, it acts as an anti-inflammatory and reduces plaque buildup as well.

Herbs such as neem and tulsi, known for their antimicrobial properties, can be used. Neem sticks or powder can be used to brush or rinse the mouth, which helps fight harmful bacteria causing gum diseases. Meanwhile, a decoction of Tulsi leaves can be a potent mouthwash.

Diet plays a crucial role too. Incorporate plenty of raw vegetables and avoid too much sugar, salt, or processed foods as these exacerbate the gum problems. Green leafy foods, rich in calcium and vitamin C, bolster gum health.

Stress management using yoga, breathing exercises, or meditation is advised, as stress impacts immune response, thus affecting oral health.

For tailored treatment, visiting a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner is recommended, they can provide personalized advice considering your constitution and health needs. Regular check-ups with your dentist are also essential to monitor the condition and prevent further damage.

In severe cases or persistent symptoms, it is important to seek professional medical advice too, as periodontitis can sometimes lead to complications if not treated appropriately.
