Doctors' responses
Diagnosis (Ayurvedic): Chronic vulvar itching (Severe, constant) – Pitta-Kapha imbalance causing Jangha-Sphika Vedana Internal Medicines: - Manjishtha Churna – 3 grams, taken in the morning on an empty stomach with warm water or milk, for 1 month. - Neem Capsules / Neem Churna – 500 mg, twice daily after meals, for 1 month. - Haridra (Turmeric) with Ghee – 1 teaspoon turmeric + 1 teaspoon ghee, taken in the morning on an empty stomach, for 1 month. - Gokshura Churna – 3 grams, at night with water, for 1 month. Note: After 1 month, medicines should be reviewed and adjusted based on symptom relief. External Treatment: - Apply a thin layer of Neem-Turmeric paste over the affected area 1–2 times daily. Wash gently after 30 minutes. Avoid internal mucosa. - Apply Coconut oil or Ksheerabala Taila 2–3 times daily after washing to keep the area moist and reduce itching. - Wash the vulvar region once daily with lukewarm Triphala water. Dietary & Lifestyle Advice: - Avoid spicy, oily, fermented, or sour foods that aggravate Pitta. - Include cooling foods such as cucumber, coriander, ghee, and sweet fruits. - Drink 2–3 liters of water daily. - Use mild, unscented soap or plain water for cleaning. - Wear cotton, loose-fitting underwear. - Practice daily stress management: Pranayama (Sheetali / Sheetkari) and yoga asanas like Shavasana and Supta Baddha Konasana. Follow-Up: - Review after 4 weeks to assess severity of itching, skin condition, and response to treatment. - If symptoms persist, consider Ayurvedic Panchakarma therapies (like Basti or local cooling therapies).
