Dear Shri Bipin R. Shah ji Sharing safe Ayurvedic guidance. Since you had bypass surgery, please do NOT stop aspirin or cholesterol medicines without your cardiologist’s advice. Ayurveda can be used only to protect the stomach and digestion. Simple Ayurvedic Remedies (Safe with Heart Medicines) 1. After breakfast (daily) Shatavari churna – ½ teaspoon with lukewarm milk or water → Soothes stomach lining, reduces acidity and burning 2. After lunch Yashtimadhu (Mulethi) churna – ¼ teaspoon with warm water → Very good for gastritis caused by aspirin 3. For Mandagni & Gas Hingvashtak churna – a pinch (¼ tsp) with first bite of food, once daily only 4. If acidity increases Avipattikar churna – ½ teaspoon at bedtime with warm water (2–3 times/week) Simple Diet Advice Take aspirin after food only Avoid: spicy, fried, sour foods, tea/coffee at night Prefer: rice, moong dal, boiled vegetables, buttermilk at noon Eat small meals, don’t stay empty stomach long

I understand your concern and at your age and with a history of bypass surgery your health needs to be handled very carefully and respectfully medicines like aspirin and cholesterol lowering drugs are usually essential after bypass and should not be stopped on your own but it is also true that with long term use they can irritate the stomach lining and weaken digestion which leads to symptoms like acidity bloating and gastric discomfort from an ayurvedic point of view this indicates mandagni with pitta aggravation and our aim is to protect the stomach and improve digestion without disturbing your heart medicines Along with continuing your prescribed cardiac medicines you may add gentle ayurvedic support you can take Avipattikar churna half teaspoon once daily at night with lukewarm water to reduce acidity and gastric irritation Shatavari churna half teaspoon twice daily after food with warm milk or water to soothe the stomach lining and Guduchi satva two hundred fifty mg twice daily after food with water to balance pitta and support digestion avoid spicy sour fried foods tea coffee and late dinners eat simple warm meals at regular times and keep a time gap between allopathic and ayurvedic medicines this approach is generally safe supportive and suitable for long term comfort if symptoms persist further customization can be done based on your digestion and strength

Namaste Shri Bipin ji, I get what you’re going through. At 75, and after bypass surgery, plus being on Aspirin and cholesterol meds for life, it’s normal to have stomach issues like gastritis, acidity, bloating, and poor digestion. It’s not just in your head, and Ayurveda can help keep your stomach safe without messing with your heart medications so dont worry we are here to help you out 😊 YOUR CONCERN – Stomach feels irritated – Gassy and bloated – Acid reflux – Digestion is slow It’s most likely happening from the long-term use of aspirin and statins. In Ayurveda, they call this Aushadha-janya Amlapitta (medicine-caused gastritis). THE AYURVEDA EXPLANATION Taking allopathic drugs for a long time can: – Make you feel hot – Irritate – Cause dryness And this makes things worse: – Pitta goes up → More acidity, burning feeling – Vata goes up → More gas, bloating – Your digestive Agni gets weak So, your stomach lining gets sensitive and inflamed. A FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND – Don’t stop taking Aspirin or cholesterol meds. They’re super important after a bypass. – Ayurveda is just there to help your stomach, not switch out your current meds. WHAT WE CAN DO WITH AYURVEDA 1. Kamdudha Ras (Plain) Take 1 pill, twice a day With cold milk or water This helps to: –Calm the acid –Help the stomach lining – Stop burning and irritation 2. Yashtimadhu (Licorice) Powder ½ teaspoon, twice a day With warm milk This helps to: – Coat and protect your stomach –It prevents aspirin from hurting you – It lowers gastritis 3. Avipattikar Powderb½ teaspoon before bed With warm water This helps to: –Get rid of gas – Stop acid reflux –Help your digestion 4. Guduchi Satva 250 mg, twice a day With water This helps to: – Lower swelling from drugs – Helps your body energy levels and liver TAKE CARE OF YOUR STOMACH WITH FOODINCLUDE – Eat every 3–4 hours – Eat soft, warm foods – Rice, dal, ghee are good – Coconut water – Buttermilk AVOID – Tea, coffee – Spicy stuff – Pickles – Eating late at night – Taking Aspirin on an empty stomach Make sure to take Aspirin after eating WHEN WILL YOU FEEL BETTER: – Less acidity in 5–7 days – Less gas & bloating in 2 weeks – Stomach will feel better in 4–6 weeks Your stomach isn’t weak; it’s just sensitive because of the meds. Ayurveda can keep your stomach safe while you keep taking the drugs that save your life. Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

HELLO, You have undergone bypass surgery and are correctly taking aspirin and cholestrol - reducing medicines for life. These medicines are life saving for your heart, but over long periods they can irritate the stomach lining. WHAT IS HAPPENING INSIDE YOUR BODY? 1) MODERN MEDICINE VIEW -Aspirin reduces the stomach’s natural protective mucus -this causes irritation, burning, gas, bloating, and acidity -with age, the stomach becomes more sensitive 2) AYURVEDIC VIEW -Long term medicine intake increases pitta (heat and acidity) -Digestive fire (agni) becomes irregular -This leads to –amla pitta (acid reflux/gastritis) –grahani weakness (sensitive digestion) –gas and bloating due to vata disturbance This is not a serious disease, but a functional imbalance, which. Ayurveda manages very well without stopping your heart mediicnes TREATMENT GOALS -protect the stomach lining -reduce acidity and burning -normalize digestion -reduce gas and bloating -improve tolerance to long term medicines -maintain heart safety INTERNAL MEDICINES 1) AVIPATTIKAR CHURNA= 1/2 tsp twice daily after meals with lukewarm water for 6 weeks =neutralizes excess acid, relieve burning, sour belching, heaviness, corrects pitta imbalance 2)SHATAVARI CHURNA= 1/2 tsp twice daily with warm milk for 3 months = forms a protective coating on stomach lining, acts like a natural antacid, prevents drug induced gastritis 3) YASHTIMADHU CHURNA= 1/4 tsp twice daily before meals with warm water for 6 weeks =heals irritated stomach lining, reduces pain, burning, inflammation, especially useful for aspirin induced gastritis 4) HINGWASTAKA CHURNA= 1/4 tsp once daily before lunch mixed with a little ghee for 4 weeks =reduces gas, bloating, abdominal distention, improves digestion without increasing acidity 5) TRIPHALA CHURNA= 1/2 tsp at bedtime with warm water =gentle bowel regulation, prevents acid build up overnight, improves gut health EXTERNAL THERAPIES OIL APPLICATION -Apply warm sesame oil to abdomen and soles -3-4 times per week before bath =improves digestion, Reduces Vata, calms nervous system HOME REMEDIES -Fennel seeds= chew 1/2 tsp after meals -Aloe vera juice= 10 ml once daily before breakfast (diluted), natural stomach healer -Warm water= sip throughout the day, avoid cold water completely DIET -soft, warm, freshly cooked meals -rice, wheat porridge, oats -moong dal, vegetale soups -bottle gourd, pumpkin , ridge gourd -diluted buttermilk at lunch AVOID -spicy , sour, oily food -tea,coffee, bakery items -pickles, curd at night -late dinners Eat small portions chew well eat peacefully LIFESTYLE ADVICE -Take aspirin only after meals -do not lie down for 30 min after meals -gentle walking after meals -regular meal timings -adequate sleep YOGA -vajrasana after meals -pawanmuktasana -shavasana PRANAYAM -Anulom vilom= 5-10 min -bhramari= 5 rounds Avoid kapalbhati or forceful breathing IMPORTANT CAUTION -do not stop aspirin or statins -inform your cardiologist about ayurvedic medicines -avoid self medication with metallic or strong rasoushadis Your condition is very common in elderly heart patents and completely manageable. Ayurveda does not oppose your cardiac treatment- it supports your digestion so that life saving medicines can be tolerated comfortably With proper medicines diet and lifestyle -acidity reduces in 1-2 weeks -bloating improves in 2-3 weeks -overall digestion strengthens in 1-2 months DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU DR.
