Namaste, I understand your concern. When a child is 8 years old, not speaking, making sounds and also having seizures, it requires very careful and structured medical supervision. First, about Vacha syrup. Vacha (Acorus calamus) is traditionally used in Ayurveda for speech delay and cognitive support. However, in children with seizures, Vacha should not be given casually or without proper medical guidance. In some cases, it may aggravate neurological sensitivity if not prescribed appropriately. Since your child has been having seizures for more than one year and is diagnosed with a developmental disorder, the first priority should be: Proper neurological supervision Regular seizure management Brain development support under guidance If your child is not on any treatment for seizures, that is a serious concern. Seizures should always be managed by a pediatric neurologist. Uncontrolled seizures can affect brain development further. Regarding dosage of Vacha syrup, it depends on: Child’s weight Digestive strength Type of developmental condition Seizure frequency Current medications There is no safe general dose that can be advised online in such a case. Please do not start Vacha syrup on your own based on recommendation from others. Especially in a child with seizures, medicines affecting the nervous system must be prescribed carefully. Along with medical care, you should consider: Speech therapy Occupational therapy Structured developmental therapy Proper sleep routine Simple, easily digestible diet Diet should avoid excessive packaged foods, artificial colors, very spicy food and irregular meal timings. Warm, freshly prepared, simple food is preferable. Most importantly, your child needs a detailed evaluation. Seizures plus speech delay suggests a neurological developmental condition that requires multidisciplinary care. I strongly advise you to consult a pediatric neurologist and an experienced Ayurvedic physician together before starting any herbal formulation. With proper guidance, supportive therapies can be added safely. Do not lose hope, but please proceed cautiously and under supervision.

Ayurvedic medicines (including Shri Dadaji’s Vacha syrup or any herbal formulations) should not be given without direct supervision of a qualified Ayurvedic physician. 🌿 General Ayurvedic Supportive Measures (Safe at Home) These are gentle, non-medicinal routines that can support speech and neurological development alongside medical care: - Abhyanga (oil massage): Daily gentle massage with warm sesame oil or Ksheerabala Taila to calm Vata and support nervous system. - Nasya (under supervision): Mild nasal drops like Anu Taila are sometimes used, but only after physician approval in children. - Diet: Warm, easily digestible food; avoid processed, very cold, or heavy meals. - Therapies: Encourage sound-making, music therapy, and speech stimulation exercises.

Instead of syrup use CHURNA half tsp and mix it with honey and give as CHATAN. Half tsp in the whole day is enough. As having history of seizures VACHA half tsp in the whole day will not heat the body. In case the episodes do seizures increase reduce the quantity of churna. Along with this teach him pranayam like UJJAYI and BHRAMARI. Keep in touch with some ayurvedic physician or his regular pediatrician.

Hello First I want to say - I truly understand how emotionally challenge it is for you. Its difficult to deal with this condition when you child is non speaking and experiences seizures You are doing right thing by asking before starting anything new IMPORTANT FIRST CLARIFICATION Your child has - developmental disorder -Seizures for more than 1 year Can you pls mentioned what is the frequency of seizures? For how much time one seizure stays? A complete history and proper examination is needed so i would suggest to have a personal consultation or have a consultation with ayurvedic paediatric So that we can guide you properly ABOUT VACHA it is used for -Speech stimulation -Cognitive activities - improving focus VERY IMPORTANT WARNING Vacha is heating and stimulating in nature In children witb seizure - Strong stimulation may increase seizure frequency Therefore - it should not be given casually -it should be given under close observation of ayurvedic physician - It should not replace anti- Seizures medications REGARDING VACHA SYRUP -Start only after physical examination by ayurvedic physican Start with small dose like 1/2 tsp Only under supervision If frequency of seizure increases you need to stop Better than this In ayurveda there is therapy called Jivha ulekhana In this we do special therapy on tongue to stimulate it In this also vacha is used but I will suggest to do once in ayurvedic panchakarma therapy center then once stable you can do that home only But in a seizure child i would not recomend starting it without medical supervision Wishing your child a good health😊 Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

✓Typical safe paediatric dose: 2.5–5 ml once daily (morning) with honey or warm water Start with lowest dose (2.5 ml) and monitor for 7–10 days Duration: usually short courses (4–8 weeks), not long-term Stop immediately if seizures increase, hyperactivity, or any new symptom appears ✓Also Focus on modern multidisciplinary care (neurology + speech therapy + developmental paediatrician).
