In elderly patients, a urinary tract infection (UTI) can significantly increase blood glucose and also make oral diabetes medicines appear ineffective. Given you mentioned severe/persistent urinary symptoms, this is likely a major driver right now. If the infection is not fully treated or has recurred, sugar can remain high despite multiple tablets. —Blood sugar is high because digestion and metabolism are weak right now Urinary infection is increasing heat and disturbing sugar control Body is not able to properly process carbohydrates –dx Madhumeha (Type 2 DM) with Mutrakrichra, post-stroke elderly —Prescription 1) Gokshuradi Guggulu 1 tablet (500 mg) twice daily after food 2) Gudmar Vati 1 tablet twice daily after meals 3) Methi (Fenugreek) powder 1 teaspoon at bedtime with warm water 4) SYP Neemelia 1 tsf with equal amount of water after meal 5) Amla powder / tablet 1 dose once daily in morning —Anupana (vehicle) Warm water ----Pathya Light diet (moong dal, vegetables), avoid sugar & excess rice Adequate hydration (if not restricted) ----Caution Continue allopathic diabetes medicines If sugar remains >250 mg/dL or UTI symptoms persist → urgent medical review (may need insulin/antibiotics adjustment)

Ok sure, noted. it’s very difficult at her age with her problems. Managing as best as I can, with single combination medicines.

Ok…then go with the medicines which are prescribed by allopathic…or she is using till now…start with methi dana pani soaked in night and have it in morning daily, if she can walk .then daily on green grass in park ., And more medicines if she can’t take – then take gokshuradi Guggulu, SYP neeri for now …and wash with trifla water daily… follow up after 15 days…then will see the results nd rest medicines will be add… according to their condition

At 85 years with Type 2 Diabetes, post-stroke status, persistent sugars above 250, and recurrent UTI, careful medical supervision is very important. Persistent high sugar at this age increases the risk of dehydration, infections, weakness, and delayed recovery. Regarding Glysikot granules, Ayurvedic anti-diabetic formulations may provide supportive help in controlling blood sugar and metabolism, but in elderly patients already taking multiple diabetes medicines, they should be used cautiously and avoid sudden sugar fluctuations or digestive strain. Important Points Since sugars remain high despite current medicines, her treatment may need review or dose adjustment by her diabetologist Recurrent UTI itself can keep blood sugar elevated Sedentary lifestyle after stroke also worsens insulin resistance Ayurvedic Supportive Approach Ayurveda focuses on improving: Digestion and metabolism (Agni) Urinary system health Energy and tissue nourishment Prevention of complications Common supportive herbs used under supervision: Gudmar (Meshashringi) Jamun seed Guduchi Haridra (Turmeric) Amalaki Chandraprabha Vati (carefully in elderly cases) Diet & Care Give small, easily digestible meals Avoid sweets, bakery items, fruit juices, excess rice/potatoes Ensure proper hydration unless fluid restriction exists Maintain hygiene to reduce UTI recurrence Monitor fasting and post-meal sugars regularly

••As an Ayurvedic perspective, the management of Madhumeha (Diabetes) focuses on clearing Aama (toxins) and balancing Kapha while ensuring the patient’s strength (Bala) is maintained. Regarding Glysikot Granules ••Glysikot is a standard Ayurvedic formulation (often containing ingredients like Amrita, Haridra, and Dhanyaka) used to support glucose metabolism. ••Is it okay to take? Generally, yes, but with a major caution: because she is already on a heavy regimen of modern anti-diabetics (Glimisave M2, Voglibose, and Januvia), adding Glysikot increases the risk of additive effects. ••The Risk: While her levels are currently high, Ayurvedic herbs can sometimes “kick in” unexpectedly. In a sedentary 85-year-old, we must avoid a sudden crash in blood sugar. ••In Ayurveda, chronic UTIs in diabetic patients are often due to Mutravaha Srotas (urinary tract) imbalances caused by high sugar in the urine. 1.Chandraprabha Vati: (1-0-1 after food with normal water )Often considered the “gold standard” for elderly urinary issues and diabetes complications. It helps tone the kidneys and may assist in reducing frequency or burning during urination. ••For sugar…Add Nishamalaki: (1 tsf both time after food with normal water )A simple, classical combination of Amala (Indian Gooseberry) and Haldi (Turmeric). It is highly effective for diabetic complications and is gentle on the elderly.
