You’re feeling pain on the left side of the abdomen, noticing changes in your stool, no blood – and your complete blood count (CBC) comes back normal with some bloating, right? Don’t worry, we’ll try to make sense of this.

Firstly, in Ayurveda, we’d be looking at possible imbalances in your Vata or Pitta doshas commonly connected to digestion problems and abdominal discomfort. With the left side pain and bloating, we might think about Agni—your digestive fire—being a bit weak or disturbed, affecting your sanity (mind) too.

Now, a good place to start is adjusting your diet. I’d say avoid really cold foods and drinks that might dampen your Agni more. Stick with warm, easily digestible meals. Think kitchari, soft cooked veggies, and soups. Maybe try some grated ginger with a pinch of rock salt before meals to kind of help kickstart digestion - works for some people quite nicely.
