Fas - #16967

For the past few weeks, I’ve been experiencing weird digestive issues—sometimes bloating, sometimes stomach pain, and occasionally loose stools. At first, I thought it was just something I ate, but then I started feeling really low on energy and even had mild fever on some days. A doctor suggested I take Fas tablets, saying it could be a parasitic infection, so I went ahead and took them. After taking Fas, the stomach issues got a bit better, but now I feel completely drained. My appetite is messed up, and my body feels weak, almost like I have no strength. I also noticed that my digestion still isn’t fully normal—there’s occasional discomfort, and I feel like my stomach is more sensitive than before. It’s making me wonder if taking Fas disturbed something in my body rather than fixing the root cause. I started reading about Ayurveda, and I saw that it focuses on digestion and gut health a lot. Does Ayurveda have a way to restore balance after taking medicines like Fas? Are there Ayurvedic remedies that can help cleanse my system naturally and strengthen digestion? I feel like my gut isn’t fully healed, and I don’t want to keep feeling this weak. Also, should I be avoiding any particular foods right now? I’ve been eating light, but my energy is still low. Can Ayurveda help improve immunity and digestion after taking Fas? I don’t want to rely on medicines repeatedly—would love to know if there are long-term solutions in Ayurveda to prevent such issues from coming back.

It sounds like your gut is still recovering from both the parasitic infection and the effects of Fas tablets, which can sometimes weaken digestion and deplete energy. Ayurveda focuses on restoring Agni (digestive fire) after illness or medication use. Drinking jeera (cumin), ajwain (carom), and fennel seed tea can help soothe the stomach and improve digestion. Aloe vera juice or Triphala can gently cleanse any residual toxins without weakening digestion further.

Since you’re feeling weak and sensitive, focus on easily digestible, nourishing foods like khichdi (rice and lentil porridge), moong dal soup, fresh homemade yogurt (if tolerated), and ghee. Avoid heavy, processed, fried, or very cold foods that may aggravate your weakened digestion. Ashwagandha or Shatavari can help restore strength and improve energy levels naturally.

To prevent future infections and support long-term gut health, Ayurveda suggests taking Pippali (long pepper), turmeric, and Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) to boost immunity. Practicing daily tongue scraping, sipping warm water throughout the day, and consuming probiotic-rich foods like buttermilk (takra) can help maintain gut balance. Over time, these habits will strengthen your digestion and prevent recurring stomach issues.

In Ayurveda, digestive health is considered the cornerstone of overall well-being, and it’s not uncommon to experience lingering digestive discomfort after taking medications like Fas. To restore balance, Ayurveda recommends focusing on strengthening Agni, or digestive fire, which may have been weakened by the medication. Herbal remedies such as Triphala (a combination of three fruits) and digestive spices like ginger, cumin, and fennel can help regulate digestion, detoxify the body, and improve your appetite. A gentle cleanse using herbs like neem or a mild detox with warm water and lemon can also help eliminate any residual toxins. To rebuild energy and immunity, nourishing foods like kichari (a mixture of rice and lentils), cooked vegetables, and soups are ideal, as they are easy on the stomach and help restore balance. It’s important to avoid heavy, oily, or overly spicy foods during this recovery period, as they can aggravate the stomach and lead to further discomfort. Ayurveda also emphasizes mindful eating and proper digestion, so eating smaller meals regularly, chewing food thoroughly, and staying hydrated will support your recovery. Regular practices like gentle yoga or pranayama (breathing exercises) can also boost energy and digestion naturally. By focusing on balancing the digestive system and boosting vitality through herbs, diet, and lifestyle changes, Ayurveda offers long-term solutions for maintaining gut health and preventing future issues.

Definitly sounds like your agni, or digestive fire, needs some serious TLC after a round with Fas. Medicines like that can zap your system, yeah they clear bad guys like parasites, but they also can leave a mess. In Ayurveda, boosting digestion and restoring balance is all about getting that agni back on track.

First thing, let’s talk simple diet changes. Favor warm, cooked foods—think kitchari, rice with mung dal soup, or easy soups with veggies like carrots or squash. Steer clear of anything heavy, oily, or too pungent. Also, raw veggies or cold foods can further disturb your agni.

To really nurture your gut, sip on ginger tea throughout the day. Just boil a few slices of fresh ginger in a cup of water for 5 mins—it’ll help spark your digestive fire and reduce bloating. Triphala, an Ayurvedic herbal blend, is a star at balancing digestion and cleansing the system. Take it in powder form—half teaspoon with lukewarm water before bed. Don’t just expect overnight miracles, it works gently over time.

For enhancing immunity and strength, Chyawanprash is a time-tested tonic. It’s a jam-like supplement with amla as a main ingredient—rich in vitamin C and boosts immunity. Take a teaspoon daily, preferably in the morning.

Rest is just as vital as diet. Your body needs to refuel, so don’t skimp on sleep. Practice some gentle yoga or even some breathing exercises like pranayama to reduce stress and enhance energy levels. Shavasana is quite revitalizing, you can do it anytime during the day when you feel exhausted—just lie flat and breathe easy.

Remember, it’s a journey! Sometimes, integrating these practices can take time but they’ll work long-term. Avoid self-imposing strict food restrictions—it’s more about finding balance and making flexible choices. If symptoms increase or fever returns, important to check again with a doctor.

It’s totally alright feeling a bit lost after meds, but with patience and consistent effort, your gut and energy will improve. Ayurveda’s strength lies in its holistic approach, aligning diet, lifestyle and mental well-being for a long-term solution. So just stick with it.
