From what I read, renal failure occurs when the kidneys lose their ability to filter waste from the blood properly, leading to toxin buildup, electrolyte imbalances, and severe health complications. It can be acute (sudden) or chronic (gradual) and may be caused by diabetes, high blood pressure, infections, or prolonged medication use. I do not have a diagnosed kidney disease, but I sometimes experience frequent urination, mild lower back pain, and occasional swelling in the feet, especially after not drinking enough water or consuming too much salt—could these be early signs of kidney dysfunction or poor filtration capacity? Does Ayurveda classify renal failure as a Vata or Kapha imbalance, and what are the best natural ways to support kidney health and prevent renal disease? Additionally, I want to know whether diet and hydration affect kidney function and filtration capacity. I consume a lot of salty and processed foods, and I have read that poor diet and dehydration can strain the kidneys—could my lifestyle be affecting my kidney health and increasing my risk of renal failure?
