I’ve been dealing with acne for years now, and no matter what I do, it just keeps coming back. I’ve tried different face washes, home remedies, and even some prescription creams, but nothing seems to work long-term. My dermatologist recently prescribed clindamycin phosphate gel, and while it seems to help, I don’t know if it’s really solving the root problem. The first thing I noticed after using clindamycin phosphate gel was that my skin felt a little dry, especially around my mouth and cheeks. My forehead and nose, however, still feel oily. Is this normal? I also feel like my pimples heal faster, but they leave behind dark spots that take months to fade. Is clindamycin phosphate gel supposed to help with marks, or does it only work for active acne? Another issue is that as soon as I stop applying clindamycin phosphate gel, my acne flares up again.
