How to treat male pattern baldness with natural remedies like egg, oil, and aloe vera? - #56300
I have male pattern baldness, partial though. I have started no poo. Been a week. So far used alo Vera natural gel once. I have egg wash, oiling in my mind but haven't tried yet, first because of the fear of having smell of egg in my hair and second how will I remove oil from my hair after oil massage without shampoo? Can you give me a weekly or monthly schedule, how often I should use egg, oil and alo Vera? Also can I take daily bath, hence wet my hair,or should I bath once or twice in a week, because I read daily bathing harms hair as well? I read apple cider vinegar helps removing smell of egg and oil after mmassage, how to use vinegar and does it actually works? Last, I read Rosemary and shikakhai oil is good for hair growth. But should I use cold pressed form of oil or infused? Or essential pure Rosemary oil? Which one is best? Also how to use it? Age 36. Thanks in advance.

Male pattern baldness (Khalitya) is often associated with aggravated Pitta and Vata along with stress, irregular sleep, and nutritional factors. Natural hair care may improve scalp health, but it is unlikely to reverse genetic hair loss completely. ----Suggested routine (oily scalp): 2–3 times/week Apply fresh Aloe Vera gel to scalp for 20–30 minutes, then rinse with plain water. 1–2 times/week Gentle oil massage with coconut oil or a rosemary-infused coconut oil. Leave for 1–2 hours (or overnight if comfortable). To remove oil without shampoo, use a mild Shikakai powder paste or diluted gram flour (besan) paste, then rinse well. ----Every 10–14 days Egg hair mask (1 egg + 1–2 tsp curd). Leave for 20 minutes and rinse with cool water (never hot water). A mild apple cider vinegar rinse (1–2 tbsp ACV in 1 cup water) after washing can help reduce odor and improve scalp cleanliness. -----Rosemary use Avoid applying pure rosemary essential oil directly. Mix 2–3 drops rosemary essential oil in 1 tablespoon coconut oil and massage scalp 1–2 times weekly. Rosemary-infused oil is gentler and easier for regular use than pure essential oil. Bathing and hair washing Daily bathing is fine. Wetting hair daily with plain water is generally acceptable if your scalp is oily. Frequent harsh cleansing can dry the hair shaft, but daily bathing itself does not cause baldness. ----Important For male pattern baldness lasting >3 years, natural remedies alone usually give limited regrowth. Consider evaluation for iron deficiency, vitamin D, B12, thyroid issues,
In Ayurveda, male pattern baldness is often described under “Khalitya” — a condition mainly driven by aggravated Pitta (heat + inflammation) along with weakened Vata (dryness + hair root depletion). The goal is not just external care, but restoring balance to the scalp, nourishing the hair roots (Dhatus), and calming excess heat and stress. Here is a simple, practical weekly–monthly natural routine using egg, aloe vera, oil, and herbal cleansing — designed in a sustainable way without needing harsh shampoo. 1. Weekly Hair Care Schedule (Simple & Effective) Oil Therapy (2 times per week) Use coconut oil + a few drops of rosemary essential oil (2–4 drops per tablespoon of oil) Massage gently for 10–15 minutes (do not scratch hard) Leave for at least 1–2 hours or overnight (if comfortable) Oil strengthens hair roots, calms Vata, and improves scalp circulation. Important: You don’t need shampoo daily. To remove oil naturally: Use shikakai + reetha water rinse OR Use lukewarm water + light herbal wash Aloe Vera (2–3 times per week) Apply fresh aloe vera gel directly on scalp Leave for 30–60 minutes Rinse with plain water or mild herbal wash Aloe vera cools excess Pitta and reduces scalp inflammation, itching, and hair weakening. Egg Treatment (Once every 10–15 days) Use only egg white or whole egg (based on scalp dryness) Mix with aloe vera or curd (optional, reduces smell) Apply for 20–30 minutes only This is a protein therapy to strengthen hair shafts. Smell control tip (very important): Add a few drops of lemon juice or rose water Rinse with shikakai water Apple cider vinegar rinse helps remove smell effectively (explained below) 2. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Use Yes — ACV is useful, but only as a final rinse, not direct treatment. How to use: Mix 1 tablespoon ACV in 1 cup water After washing hair, pour it gently on scalp Leave for 1–2 minutes Rinse lightly or leave (if mild dilution) Benefits: Removes egg/oil smell Balances scalp pH Reduces oily scalp buildup Do not use concentrated ACV — it may irritate scalp. 3. Best Oil Choice (Ayurvedic View) For male pattern baldness with oily scalp: Best base oils: Cold-pressed coconut oil (best for Pitta cooling) Bhringraj oil (herbal infused oil) (excellent for hair regrowth) Amla oil (strengthens roots) Rosemary oil: Use ONLY essential oil form Always dilute in carrier oil (never directly on scalp) Best combination: Coconut oil + Bhringraj + 2–3 drops rosemary essential oil 4. Bathing & Hair Washing Frequency Your concern about daily bathing is common but: Daily bathing is NOT harmful But daily harsh shampooing IS harmful Best routine: You can bathe daily normally Hair rinse with water is fine Use herbal wash 2–3 times per week only Ayurveda does NOT discourage cleanliness — it discourages chemical stripping of natural oils. 5. Monthly Hair Regrowth Plan Week 1–2: Oil twice weekly Aloe vera 2–3 times weekly One egg treatment (end of week 2) Week 3–4: Continue oil + aloe vera Repeat egg treatment once Introduce shikakai/reetha wash if possible After 1 month: Reduce egg to once/month if scalp becomes strong Continue oiling consistently (this is key) 6. Ayurvedic Root Insight (Very Important) Male pattern baldness is rarely just external — it is often linked with: Chronic stress (Vata imbalance) Heat / inflammation in scalp (Pitta) Weak digestion → poor hair nourishment For better results: Sleep on time Add Amla or Triphala internally (if suitable) Reduce spicy, oily, and processed foods
