Hi Amrendra,

I understand your concerns. To help manage your blood pressure, it’s important to know if you’re experiencing symptoms like dizziness, headaches, or chest discomfort. Also, do you have any other lifestyle factors that might be affecting your blood pressure, like stress, diet, or physical activity?

Tip: For managing high blood pressure naturally:

Diet: Reduce salt intake, increase potassium (through bananas, spinach), and eat heart-healthy foods like nuts, seeds, and whole grains.

Exercise: Regular physical activity, such as walking or swimming, can help lower blood pressure.

Herbs: Ashwagandha and Garlic can help manage anxiety and blood pressure naturally.

Stress Management: Practice relaxation techniques like meditation or deep breathing.

Since you’re also on medications for anxiety and hypothyroidism, it’s important to consult your healthcare provider before making any significant changes, especially to your medication.

Managing high blood pressure, especially with an underscore of anxiety and an underactive thyroid, requires a careful balancing act. While it’s optimal to consult with a healthcare provider for a personalized approach, I can share some Ayurvedic principles that may help complement your current care.

In Ayurveda, high blood pressure often ties back to imbalances in the Vata and Pitta doshas. Focusing firstly on diet: include more cooling and grounding foods. Favor items like boiled vegetables, whole grains like rice and barley, and fresh fruits such as juicy pears and sweet berries. Avoid excessively salty foods, spicy items, and fried stuff as these can aggravate Pitta.

In terms of lifestyle, consistency is key. Establish a daily routine that includes waking up and going to bed at fixed times. Ayurvedic exercises like yoga and pranayama can be particularly beneficial. Simpler poses such as Sukhasana (easy pose) and Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) could help manage anxiety and support serene blood pressure levels. Aim to practice these breathings exercises twice daily.

Additionally, consider herbal aids. Herbs like Ashwagandha have adaptogenic properties that are useful for stress and anxiety. Arjuna is known for heart health. However, you should definitely consult with a practitioner before adding any new supplements, especially since you’re on allopathic medications.

It’s important to not overlook other therapies like Abhyanga (self-massage with warm sesame or olive oil) that can help calm the nervous system. Daily Abhyanga can improve circulation, reduce stress which indirectly can help with blood pressure.

Despite these strategies, maintain your prescribed allopathic medicine regimen and keep regular checks on your BP readings. It’s a challang to manage multiple conditions like anxiety and hypothyroidism, but with a thoughtful approach, you can work towards steadying your blood pressure.

Ultimately, while Ayurveda offers supportive strategies for health improvement, it should be aligned with the guidance of your healthcare provider, particularly if your blood pressure remain significantly elevated or symptoms worsen.
