Hello Sajid Can you pls mention what are your current lipid profile values As you have already mentioned it to be on higher side I will advised you to do certain diet modifications 1. Whole Grains – Barley, millet, quinoa, and brown rice help reduce bad cholesterol. 2. Fruits – Apples, pomegranates, berries, and amla (Indian gooseberry) support heart health. 3. Vegetables – Leafy greens, garlic, onions, and bitter gourd detoxify the liver. 4. Healthy Fats – Cow’s ghee (in moderation), flaxseeds, and almonds support good cholesterol (HDL). 5. Spices – Turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and cinnamon improve fat metabolism. 6. Legumes – Moong dal, lentils, and chickpeas provide protein without raising cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid

1. Fried & Processed Foods – Increases Ama and bad cholesterol (LDL). 2. Dairy (Excessive) – Full-fat milk, cheese, and butter can increase Kapha. Use low-fat versions. 3. Red Meat & Processed Meats – Can lead to arterial blockage. 4. Refined Sugar & Carbs – White flour, pastries, and sodas increase fat accumulation

Internal medication 1. Lahsuna ksheerpaka - take 4-5 lahsuna petals , add in 300 ml of water and 100ml of milk , boil and reduce to 120 ml , take in morning 2. Lipomap 1-0-1 after breakfast and dinner 3. Aragwadhadhi kashyam 15ml-0- 15ml + 45 ml water after breakfast and dinner

Continue this diet modification and medication for 2 months and then repeat your Lipid profile

Hi Sajid,

Can you tell me if you’ve experienced any symptoms like fatigue, dizziness, or frequent urination? How often do you monitor your blood sugar levels, and do you notice any particular triggers that worsen your blood pressure or blood sugar? Also, do you have a history of heart disease or any family members with similar health issues?

In Ayurveda, your condition suggests an imbalance in Kapha dosha, which can lead to excess weight, high blood sugar, and high cholesterol. I recommend using Guggulu and Triphala to help manage lipid levels and support healthy circulation. Guduchi and Ashwagandha can help reduce stress, improve blood sugar control, and support overall metabolism. A diet that focuses on light, whole foods with a reduction in processed sugars, along with regular physical activity like walking or yoga, will also be beneficial for balancing your weight and blood pressure.

Managing high lipid profile, blood pressure, and diabetes through Ayurveda involves multiple approaches targeting diet, lifestyle, and specific ayurvedic remedies. First, we need to consider the imbalances of kapha dosha, which is often at the root of high cholesterol and diabetes. Kapha imbalance suggests a tendency towards heaviness and stagnation in the body, which can be addressed through diet and activity.

For diet, it’s essential to focus on foods that balance kapha. Try to incorporate more vegetables and whole grains like barley and millet, which are lighter on digestion. Reduce your intake of fatty, oily, and heavy foods — avoid fried foods and cut down on red meat. Incorporate warm spices like black pepper, cumin, and ginger into your meals to enhance your digestive fire, or ‘agni’. Green tea can also help as it is known to support weight management and lipid metabolism. Drink warm water as it aids digestion better than cold drinks do.

Exercise is crucial; a regular regimen of walking, yoga, or light cardio can help manage weight and improve blood circulation. Aim for at least 30 mins daily. It’s important to keep active to counteract the kapha lethargy tendency.

Ayurveda offers various herbs that support lipid management such as guggul and arjuna. However, it’s crucial to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner before starting these, as they need to align with your specific prakriti and current medication regime. Since you’re already on medication, it’s wise to ensure there are no interactions.

For managing stress, which affects both blood pressure and blood sugar, mindfulness practices like meditation and pranayama (breathing exercises) can help. Practicing these daily, especially in the morning, can make a significant difference in stress levels and overall well-being.

While striving for balance through Ayurveda, don’t neglect your current medications, and always keep your healthcare provider in the loop with new regimes. These natural measures can be complementary but must be pursued thoughtfully. Always consult with your primary care physician before changing any medication regimen!
