What should do during ulcerative colitis flare up - #20800

I am having ulcerative colitis from last 5 years and flare up occurred almost every 1-2 years. What I should do during flare up to reduce inflammation naturally. Taking mesacol OD once in a day and 2-3 during flareups.

Hello , you have to maintain a healthy diet along with medication and yoga Rx. Kutaj Ghanvati 1 tab BD Arogya vardhini Vati -1tab BD Bilvadi powder 1/2 tsf with leukworm water Mulethi Powder 1/2 tsf with honey+ghee

1. Diet Eat soothing, gut-healing foods:

moong dal khichdi (with very little ghee), boiled apple, and mashed banana (ripe only). Steamed vegetables like bottle gourd (lauki), pumpkin, ridge gourd (turai).

Avoid:

Dairy (especially milk), spicy/oily food, raw salads, citrus fruits, gluten (wheat), and processed foods. Cold drinks and refrigerated items.

2. Stay Hydrated Drink boiled and cooled water (slightly warm) throughout the day. You can add a pinch of saunf (fennel) powder for added gut support.

Avoid overeating.

YOGA Practice gentle yoga: Pawanmuktasana, Vajrasana after meals, and Pranayama like Anulom Vilom ,Bhramari

NOTE- Get your hemoglobin, iron, vitamin D, and B12 levels checked regularly — deficiencies are common. If you notice a specific food always triggers flares, note it and avoid it.

Avoid vegetables like cabbage, chilly, capsicum, cauliflower. Have buttermilk daily. Avoid oily, frozen, canned, junk food completely. Have more coariader in meal. Tab. Pravalpanchamrut (mukta). 2-0-2 before meal Tab kutaj ghan vati ( if loose motion are there)

In Ayurveda, it’s about complementing the existing regimen, not replacing it. When symptoms are acute, immediate medical intervention is crucial, don’t overlook ,that.
